has anyone seen the new saturn ion fire ball? 200hp supercharged echo motor,intercooled 12psi. looks good for a saturn but 20 g's for a saturn thats a little far fetched. www.saturn.com

I have seen one. I think they are ugly as hell. Do not know of performance numbers though.

From what I've read so far: At first glance hp & tq numbers look promising but the tall geared 5 speed transmision is killing it's performance. Of course, mod it and it's a different story.

The Cobalt is about the same as the ION...

Here you go, right off the JBO forum... The numbers are OK.

According to Chevrolet Cobalt marketing manager Jeff Haag, the SS Supercharged does 0-60 mph in 6.4 seconds and runs the quarter mile in an impressive 14.9 seconds. What's more, Haag says the SS Supercharged isn't required to have a speed limiter because the car comes equipped with Z-rated tires, allowing a top speed of 143 mph.

Yea... I've seen a few of them, none on the road though. Not sure I like it very much, I looked pretty closely, and it's got a "rental car" feel to it. I don't know... I guess, to each his own.

couldnt get a tq reading because something to do with the coil on design of the mazda. the p5 that dynoed couldnt get a tq reading either.soon as i get a scanner i will post it up though.

my thought is this: if your going to spend money on a new sport compact, why the **** would anyone buy a saturn?
