any known changes for the '08 model year?

Hmm... You mean all CX7 in the US does not come with info button for Fuel, like "L/100Km", "Fuel tank average Km left" but mine does and the full tank would show 540Km and range too..

No not as far as I can tell... I have a GT with almost every option but the Sat. Radio and I don't have a fuel computer. Where is yours located and how do you activate it?

From Singapore. There is an info button which switch the digital clock to L/100km, Km left in fuel tank and Km/L. I will take some picture of it tomorrow..:)

It seems those of us in the U.S. market were left out on this one...

So let me guess:

Fuel Consumption - Average/Current/Remaining

I guess my NEXT CX-7 will have quite a few added bells & whistles.

Yep, below is an excerpt of the features summary for the CX-7 luxury model from Australia. I wish they hadn't left this out of the US models. Wonder if their is a way to get it added???

Instrumentation
Trip computer (current and average fuel consumption, distance to empty and average vehicle speed)
Blackout instrument cluster -
Tachometer, temperature gauge and electronic odometer
Low fuel warning light
Ambient temperature display
Digital clock
Critical function warning lights/chimes

This is the link for anyone interested:

Good questions.

Possible we'll get it with a computer update in the near future ya think?

What is 'blackout instrument cluster?'

EDIT: Found this available in the CX-9... could it be that the australia CX-7 has similar red-on-blue gauges and dash display to the CX-9 ?!

simonxda,

Do you have that 'blackout instrument cluster' in your car? I'm not able to access the singapore mazda website for some reason... if so, does it look any different from the north american release of the cx-7?

I don't understand this part.. You mean that blue ring around the meter?

New for 2008

I heard on the news that air pressure monitoring systems will be a mandatory feature for all cars. I have an 2007 and wish I had this system already on the car.

I guess so since I'm not exactly sure what the meaning of blackout cluster means too. So your cx-7 has the blue ring like the cx-9?

CX-7 has the blue ring glow, but it doesn't seem as pronounced like in the photo of the CX-9. I'd be curious to know if the CX-9 actually looks like that in real life.

yes, we have the black out meters in Singapore. basically, black out meters just means that the instrument cluster will be completely dark (i.e. cannot see the bars) until you start the car (or insert the key/open the door/etc for other makes). Most other makes already have this feature long time ago.

This feature has its down side; i.e. sometimes you will forget to on your headlights at night as you will think they are on when you see your instrument cluster lighted.

The CX does have a TPS monitoring system.

other than the beam of light above the dials, there is no other lighting in the guages on the 7 besides the red - no rings like the 9, nothing like that, would have been nice tho

cool, trip computer! I always knew something was missing in the US version when I saw the unlit portions of the display!

Nice pics! Thanks... I just can figure out why they would have left that off the US version of the CX-7???
