any good suggestions for fixing/hiding scratches in interior plastic?

Basically, I have gotten a few nasty horizontl scratches on the passenger side (places like the glovebox door and kickpanel) when metal things (shoebuckles, some cabinetry we were moving) rubbed up against it.

Anyone have any reccomendations for hiding/buffing the scratch?

What seems to make it most apparent is that the black plastic starts catching light since its a smooth and shallow gouge in what is otherwise a nubby pattern. I was thinking there might be ways to reduce the reflection (black sharpie?) or otherwise re-textureize the plastic so it's less apparent... I was wondering if there was any other methods for fixing/hiding a scratch that other people have tried.

Or, do I just get used to it and buy a new glovebox/kickpanel when/if I want to sell the car?

yeah... i totally scratched up my interior with my snowboard :(. no one else has noticed it but i know its there and HATE it. i, too, would like to know if there is a way to remove the scratches? i cant imagine how....

Hey guys! I had an ugly scratch repaired on my dash on the passenger side last summer. Basically, the guy gently sanded the scratched area first. Then he filled it with some type of filler ( don't know what it was ). Then gently sanded the filled scratch until smooth. Then he taped off surrounding area of the scratch with newspaper. Then he painted the sanded spot with matching colour of the rest of the dash. I s*** you not! This guy did an awesome job. Just like the scratch was never there. This guys a pro and made it look too easy. Anyway, this method works great. I wish I had more details but I don't, sorry. Later and peace.

yeah i scratched the plastic on the inside of my trunk with my snowboard and at the time i didnt think that it would bother me but not they kinda do. im thinkin of sandin the whole pannel down and re painting it. ill let ya know if it works.

Good God, I scratched the interior of the rear door with my snowboard as well. But I'm not even concerned about that, I really want to fix the ugly scratch on my steering wheel....worst place ever...sometimes I cant see it at all, then the light hits it just right and it I cant stand looking at it.
