Any cigar smokers?

yeah cigarsinternational.com had a deal on it. smoked me a romeo julieta 1875. pretty good. still doesnt beat the vegas gold.

new stuff, not pictured 5vegas gold and nat sherman. all mild medium. i wanna try something full bodied but i dont know what to get.

Looks nice. I prefer a full bodied cigar. I like maduros. Give a Joya de Nicaragua a try. The Antano is one of my favorite. Another one I love is the Partagas Black Label. Punch makes some really good cigars also.

I have the same Herf-a-Dor. I have the 15 count one.

Cigarbid.com is run by CigarsInternational.com, so if you want to buy something from Cigarsinternational, check out cigarbid first. Make sure you pay 50% or less for items in cigar bids. All the cigars I get from there I get at 60%+ discount, unless they are rare ones like Anejos or Opus X.

My favs are:
Oliva Master Blends
RP Edge
RP Vintage 90s & 92s
Bolivar Royal Corona
Bolivar Belicoso
Ramone Allones Specially Selected
Monti #2
Gurkha Legend, Nepalese Warrior, & Class Regent
La Flor Dominicana Cameroon Cabinet
Any Tatuaje & Cabaiguans
Any Arturo Fuentes
Any Ashton VSGs
Any Padrons
and much much more.

I probably have over 500 cigars sitting in my coolidor. Yes, I created a cooler as a humidor. LOL!

Liquid_AG, I didn't know you smoked. We should have a mini-herf next time we have a car meet.

Right now I have mostly Romeo & Juliet #2s in my humidor, a few Cohiba churchills, and a couple Montecristos.

tried an edge today. little to much for me.

Too much as in too strong? It is a bold cigar. Try the Antano by Joya de Nicaragua. It is plenty strong but not overpowering. Really nice flavor. Its the only cigar I've bought a whole box of. It has a nice balance. But then again I only like full bodied cigars.

I wish I could, but it's Poker Night on Wednesdays.

PS - if people are really into cigars, check out cigarsmokers.com. I have the same user name there. Great people and you learn a lot about cigars.

Edge is a full bodied cigar. If you didn't like it that much, you will not like Joya de Nicaragua. Just for future reference, most Nicaraguan cigars are Full-bodied.

Have it sit in your humi for a while and it'll mellow out, without losing it's flavor.

He was looking for a full bodied to try. Edge just happens to be one of the strongest. Joya is not as strong and is a more balanced cigar. He may just not like a full bodied cigar, but that brand is a good place to start.

Thats not an accurate statement.

Dominoy2k1 seems to like the mild-medium bodied smokes. Edge is good with some age on them. Try Padron Champagne if you like the 5 vegas gold. I highly recommend Oliva Master Blend 3. It's a medium bodied cigar, but man is it ever amazing! PM me if you want a sampler of good cigars.

If he prefers 5 vegas Gold, then recommending him full-bodied cigars would not be good. 5 vegas Gold are mild cigars. Just like hard liquor, you want to work your way up. Start with some medium bodied cigars. Once you are used to it, go for the AF Anejos, Opus X, La Flor Dominicana Cameroon Cabinet, Camachos, etc.

It's just from my experience, I have yet to see mild nicaraguan cigars. Most seasoned cigar smokers get nicaraguan cigars for the strength.

Cheaper alternative to JdN would be famous-smoke Nicaraguan 1000, 2000, 3000, or 4000. Cheap and good cigars. On the strong side though.

Look harder ;)

Most every maker as different levels of 'strength' in their line. Seasoned smokers like nicaraguan cigars because they are some of the best, not for their strength.

Nicaraguan cigars are really good. BUT, all the seasoned smokers I know that get Nic cigars, get it for the strength as well as the taste. I'm in a cigar forum as well, and this is not just from mutual friends, but from other people around the world. The JdN you enjoy may not give you the same effects as someone just getting into the cigar scene. A full bodied cigar to a fresh smoker may be a bad experience.

I've noticed my taste has changed as I smoke more and more cigars. I've had a couple JdNs, but let me tell you, it would not be a good cigar for someone just starting out or for someone who likes mild cigars.....even for people who like med-bodied cigars.

There may be mild-med Nic cigars, but not good enough for people to give me good reviews on or for me to go out of my way to get one. I do enjoy trying new cigars, so if you can recommend some med (maybe even mild just to see if they are still good) Nicaraguan cigars, I will be happy to try them. I smoke medium bodied smokes more than full bodied, but have shied away from mild, because they do nothing for me now (even though I started with them and enjoyed them in the beginning. I can't stand them now.)

Off hand (for just Nic cigars) I would suggest JdN Celebracion. It is much less strong than the Antano, but equally flavorful. It is a medium-bodied smoke. Several Padron cigars are medium, and truly some of the best smokes I've had. Oliva Special S and Serie O & Serie G are very nice medium smokes. If you want and awesome full-body from them go with the Serie V. I'll take a look at my rings later and see what else I can remember. I'm bad about forgetting. Same with wines. I need to start writing stuff down.

The first cigars I ever smoked were medium to full. I have been fortunate to be around some aficionados. Thats how I got into it and learned what I have. Only recently have I begun to look for other sources to find cigars...and that doesn't extend much further than cigar aficionado. I prefer the taste and see method. Reviews can only take you so far. Forumulate your own opinion.
