I'm currently in the process of rebuilding my motor. All the internals and additional engine parts needed have been decidided on and/or ordered except the turbo and the exhaust manifold.
I've been doing a ton a research and looking at dyno charts. I'm 90% on purchasing the atp bolt-on Gt3071r. However I recently stumbled upon a anti-surge housing option http://www.himni-racing.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=229_234_260&products_id=1532&zenid=2maqt46rd32hdvpa8ga200epi0 I've done some research but just wanted to know some more. Is this something that would make this turbo more daily driveable? My overall goal is to have something that can make great power but be driven every day.

3071r is probably the best turbo for this car, while still having DD abilities. The "old" type of housing created a lot of problems with surging so they made a newer version with this anti-surge protection. If you have that available, definitely get that one as it will give you much less headaches when tuning your car. You basically can't control the surge much with the older version, not even with a tune.

Go to the "other" forums for more info.

sounds like a plan then. i have read that the anti-surge housing causes an increase in spool time. however i am planning on oredering this turbo within the next week or two. 400+ hp here we come

Get the Anti Surge for sure, it will save you a loooooad of headach down the road.!
