True, but it also looks like you have plenty of clearance. The standard garage door is seven feet high, that looks like the standard clearance. And your keypad is really high - do you have kids?

For what it's worth I adjusted my garage door so that it opens fully, plenty of clearance now. Turns out I could raise it by four inches or so.

looks are deceiving. i duck while in the garage. I am 6'0''.

keypad is eye level... my kid is 7 months old.

either way, shorty antenna or shark fin are a good idea for the 5!

Do you have the OEM antenna? You could try a longer antenna, like the Fuba-series (a 16” antenna) here: http://www.stubbyantenna.com/detail.asp?key=Fuba_Antenna_RA_16

though I am not sure of the size of the Mazda OEM antenna.

The best way to improve your reception would be to put in a decent aftermarket radio. Speaking of which, when you say that reception sucks, do you mean that you basically have no reception? Try turning on your radio to a distant station while in your driveway, then take off your antenna. If there was no change on the audio quality your antenna may be unplugged (or loose) at the back of your radio.

No change in reception.

one off a Mazdaspeed3 does too; no complaints from the Mrs about bad reception.
