Another Winter Tire Thread

I agree with the speedo part, but disagree with running a 215 width winter tire. All that's going to do is make you float more over the snow and slush.
Go with 205-55-16's on your MSP with P5 wheels. Many people here have done that, and i will too one i sell my 15 inch winters and steelies.

I use the 15" steeleys with Hancook tires for my MSP, went through every snow and ice storm last year no problem, I would actually drive up and down the driveway (its freakin long) to make a path so my brother could get to work. Unfortunatly I'll probably still be driving the rental Civic for another 2 months on its bald ass skid on slightly wet pavement and mash yet another helpless woodland animal (PITA's gonna have a fit) tires...

Any automotive shop/garage and black.
umm, indeed, you can find steelies at any shop/garage, but finding 15's or 16's in a bolt pattern that will fit our cars is a good bit harder to do. Any suggestions?

NOTICE TO ALL

ALL SEASONS SUCK IF YOU ANYWHERE IN THE NORTH

I had brand new Potenza all seasons, I stoped at a stop sign, and the car slid sidways, For a week, I got stuck everywhere, I whould stop at a stop sign and couldnt start going again because Im on ice and the wheels just spin. I look around and Im the only idiot getting stuck like this (with barly any snow I got stuck anyways)

But My Goodyear eagle treads keep me in control, The first hour I got them I did salome driving (no cones, just jerking the wheel back and forth) and she held great!, Im not sure the spects exactly, but if I remember right there something like 195/55/15 (not sure)

All seasons are s***, if you live where it snow's. If your somewhere where it dont, it doesnt matter, but all seasons DONT include the nothern winter!

What do you guys recommend, would it be a waste of money to get snow tires? I'm in around St. Louis, MO. We do get snow in the winter, obviously. Hrmm, I am thinking about Blizzak WS-50 @ 195/60-15. How does that size tire look on the MSP. Is it overall the same diameter to fill the wheel well?

Really? I found mine no problem. Just give them the bolt pattern and tell them to do a search.

I remember reading in the MSP addendum booklet that came with the car it said to avoid using smaller sized wheels and tires for the winter to avoid any issues with the LSD or something like it.
Only if the left and right front tires are different diameter. Otherwise it's fine. All you want to do is to maintain the same wheel diameter on both side.

ok, so will a 205 50R 17 fit on the MSP rims and maintain the correct speedo? I'm assuming this would be a better tire vs a 215 45R 17, correct?

I'm looking at the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2, I live in MN, lots of snow and ice, and I got an extra set of 03.5 MSP rims for free.
