I have a great exhaust and muffler shop down the street from where I live. I have used it for the last two Miata's I've had. When I upgraded the exhaust and installed a high flow cat, it yielded more power, response, and better gas mileage. It only cost me $250 for the cat, exhaust, and tips. I made that back in the fuel I saved.
I am wondering if it would have the same effect on the CX-9 engine. I would like to do it -if I know it will increase response and save on MPG's. Based on searches on this forum, I have not found much definitive answer to this question.
Does anyone have real-world experience with new exhaust systems or high-flow cat installation? How about how this engine platform would respond to this modification? It would help me make an informed decision.
