This is exactly why I haven't got a FCD yet. My cars runs great up to 15PSI on 93 octane without fuel cut from the Spring until the winter donw here in Texas.ARunto said:Well here's the thing with running the FCD all the time. It will alter the fuel and timing maps. Anything that alters the MAF signal will also alter the fuel and timing maps. It doesn't matter if you are boosting or not it will alter the maps. It's been recommended that you hook up a switch to the FCD so you can turn it off when not boosting over fuel cut. I've personally experienced detonation when using pump gas. I only use my FCD at the track when I want to overboost and I also use race gas. Joe P helped me in diagnosing my pinging and detonation problem and this is what he recommended.

Let us know how that turns out. You may be one of the first on the board to go with Racingmazda for that type of upgrade. I havent gotten a chance to talk to Ric Stephens about these kits yet.speed1016 said:Well I purchased the stage 2 kit from the racingmazda website the guys there are really cool. My engine should be here next week. Im also going to change the clutch since Ill already have the engine out. And this time Ill also be running the unichip or another type of fuel management. Does anyone have any other suggestions of something I should go ahead and install?
