Another new addition!

Ok, the leaky nipple was definitely the problem. No more new coolant leaking and most of the old stuff is evaporating. Now for that temp gauge... :(

Ok, coolant leak is fixed fo' sho', new plugs and wires are in, and the oil's changed. Got it all buttoned up and she's purring like a kitten...with bronchitis.

Now I just have to swap out a cat and possibly find an exhaust leak, and she'll be good as...10-years-old.

Awesome! That's so nice of you Muff! I really appreciate it. After you order it, could you send me a tracking number so I can watch for it? Thanks again!

Who's this muff guy?

The OBXs on ebay aren't fabulous, but they'll get the job done

Oh now that's not nice, getting rid of your kitten just because it has bronchitis! Poor kitty.

..and what does this have to do with your car?... and a ten year old? ...and leaky nipple clamps?

I'm confused.

Well, I took her out for a little drive over lunch and ran a couple of errands, and she felt pretty good. No signs of any further leakage and no stalling. Still idling pretty high, but that's easy enough to fix. I'm just hoping I don't get stalling problems once I lower that...

Oh well, I'm feeling like I got a great deal on this car again, and I finally got around to taking a decent batch of pictures...

Anyone know what this connector is??? In case you can't tell, this is right behind the driver's headrest, next to the top.

Not sure what it's for, but mine has that too. Pretty sure I've seen it on Kevin's. It just sits there looking pretty.

It's for the hard top window defroster. Mine doesn't have it since it's a 90.

The car looks to be in pretty good shape aside from the obvious. I'll venture to say it was a good score.

It's actually a lot quieter than I thought I remembered it, too. Could just be the cat. I'll probably get yours on this weekend and see how it sounds and roll the dice on an emissions test.

Lifter tap is loud as s*** though.

So I found a wire hanging down in the driver's footwell that I can only assume went to the radio, which doesn't work, so I decided to pull everything apart and see if I could figure out where the wire went (I know nothing about car stereo installation). After pulling the dash apart, I found that the previous owner had installed the stereo and trim plate with wood screws. I was disgusted enough to just pull the stereo completely. I'll just enjoy my lifter tap, thank you very much.

The epic saga of previous owner idiocy with this car continues...

Ok, so we'll move Miata setup discussion where it belongs.

Initial plans for the new as-yet-unnamed STS2 Miata are as follows:
450/300# springs (Swift, maybe Hyperco?)
OTS Koni Yellows
RB 4-1 header
Probably KCBHIW-style exhaust
RB hollow FSB
Magnaflow high-flow cat
...and I'm undecided on brake pads and wheels/tires ATM.

Of course, there will be a ton of $$$ little things to add in there, like bushings, end-links, rear shock mounts, refreshing everything in the car, etc...
