Another MP3 For Sale! What are they worth?

I posted a couple of weeks ago about this. A dealership near me had a press MP3 that never really had an owner for sale.

Now this car only had 7,000 or 8,000 miles on it. The dealer was asking $18,000. On top of that you could talk the dealer down a bit.

So $19,000 for a car that has more than double the miles is kinda insane.
 
You have to realize the MP3's were only produced for 1 year, never to be produced again. And, those of us that have the yellow ones are in very special limited edition. A car that was only produced for one year and only 500 were made in yelllow. I put an ad in the Dupont Registry for $25,000 (U.S. dollars) for my MP3 with 18,000 miles, I've already had three offers for the full amount. There is no way a dealer would sell that car for 18,000 or lower. My dealer has offered to buy back mine at $22,500.

If someone is looking to buy one on the east coast; screw it, anywhere in the continental US, and is offering 25k USD, i will drive there, drop it off and fly home. I am not kidding by any stretch. Send them to me:eek: :eek: !!!
I will have the clunk completely fixed hopefully by the end of the month, 32% tint all around, and an INJEN CAI.
Let them know! forgot the milage : around 16k and babied beyond babied... I'll even throw in a set of snow wheels and tires that only have one winter season on them (maybe 3-5k miles of light driving)
 
I was at the dealer and I saw the sticker. I also talked about the car with the salesman that sold me mine. Cold hard fact.

Don't get me wrong. I thought it was a good deal.
 
Interesting. Don't get me wrong: I like the idea that my little MP3 might be worth more than I paid for it. I hate getting beat on car prices that fade almost as the rear wheels leave the dealer's lot.

On the flip side, after owning it for a year, I would be hard pressed to give it up. Unless I could get out from under my loan and pre-order an MS-P!
 
First 26k takes mine home.......thats with turbo, rims and all:eek:

I love my car........but I love 26k more;)

Funny this should come up, I was almost considering selling mine.....or at least see what I could possibly get for it.

All PIAA Extreme whites bulbs
G2 Caliper Paint Yellow
Laser Blue
MINT condition
2 new rims on back OEM.
Maintanence plan on car for 4 years. Don't have to pay for check ups
8000 kms on the Dunlops,

First one that brings 24000 cdn to me, takes it.

Killer is, what would I buy in place of it? MS? I don't know if I like orange that much.
 
After one year the price has been raised to $22500USD. :) ...humm...I might sell mine if our limited MP3s will get more than 24K after 2 years...:D
 
by the way...i checked the kelly blue book retail price based on my mileage...it's $16825USD...:confused: mine has leather and moonroof... :'(
 
The people that have been interested in the ad want a stock MP3, no mods. As nice as mods. are they lessen the value of your car. As far as kelly blue book, they do not even have a quote for our car, because they aren't being sold very much, to get a value of a car they have to determine what consumers are willing to pay. Almost everyone who has an MP3 is keeping theirs or not selling yet. So sorry, but there is no kelly blue book value for an MP3. Also, someone said that is 1500 produced for that year. Mazda has to get a hold of all the people who have MP3's and ask them permission to make more MP3's ( as we were told limited edition only 1500 made). This was the perk of buying the car!! Also, when did mazda make an MP3 with leather and a moonroof??? because someone had said the have like number 800 or something out of 1500, but then lists his MP3 with leather and a moonroof. If this is true can you put up some pics because I'd love to see an MP3 with a moonroof!!!
 
I noticed that places like Edmunds.com were pricing the MP3 at about $15,000...Or so.
 
bahahaha!! mazda is gonna ASK FOR PERMISSION?!!!! did i hear that right?!!! hahaha!! they said it was a limited production car. now, what defines limited to you? only ONE production run ever? or just one production run that year? they didnt make more than 1500 in 2001, they havent lied....think about it before making such a statement.

also, not all mods lessen the value of car, it just depends on the actual mod.
 
Sorry, kelly's blue book sucks ass. I wouldn't go by that at all.

As far as mods go, when I worked at Honda, any car that came in with "mods" was automatically worth less then a car without it. Unless it was only cosmetic. The reason being....who knows if the "mods" were done correctly, and they were obviously done for performance reasons and which case, the car has probably been driven hard. not to mention that sometimes mods screw the warranty.

If you got a car with mods, your better off selling it yourself and finding someone that can appreciate the mods for what they are, Because a dealer won't give a rats ass about your mods.

I think I am gonna look into selling mine soon. It's going into the shop for some minor body work later this week (just a new hood). I've got 16k miles on it. It was nice while it lasted, but I really need something with (and I hate to admit this,) an automatic transmission. 2-3 hours a day in stop and go traffic is just no fun at all with a stick.

my leather and moonroof are aftermarket parts installed by dealer's vendor...when my Si flood and total loss:'( ...i got a chance to buy look at a MP3...and there was only one at the time in my area and my dealer have put them on already...so i seemd not have any choice not to buy it coz i love it so much...so i'd like to pay more to get those options...moonroof is aweson...but i hate leather...it kills the aggressive looking of our seats...:( so...that why i've got them on mine...
