another motor gone bye-bye

well, it seems that when i took my MSP in for the tranny failure I had, they found that the LSD was broken in 2 pieces. they told me that parts will be in tomorrow ..... I"m glad its almost done even though its only been 1 day so far.
Thanks for you guys that helped me figure out my problem. And i still love that warrenty, even though i had to strip my car naked, of its speed....

Way to go Mr. Tattle-Tale Squealy McMember. See if you can find out if he got head from an intern in the car while your at it. It think that may void his warranty too. It's a good thing you exposed him for the car abusing ***** that he is. Now the warranty department can rest easy.....thanks to you.

I was crusing about 45 in 5th gear and my motor just blew up, that b**** flew parts , left and right and a whole lotta smoke. After that happen , all i gots to say is that you guys better take care your s***. (headshake
how much boost were you running previous to this occasion?

so it IS actually safer to drive at higher RPMs?
i dont mean 5k all the time, but be at about 2500-3000 when accelerating......right?

puts a little less strain on the components, yes...but then on the other hand, bouncing off the rev limiter or something like that is horrible too...for our cars i think around 3200 rpm cruising is good spot.

The manual actually recommends 45 mph as the shift point for 5th if you are just cruising along.

Saves gas, less engine wear. If your just cruising along you don't need mad power anyways. If its not enough you could always down shift. Also corvettes are at about 1500 rpm in 6th gear at 60 mph.

Why would you leave the rpms so close to 2K in any gear?? There is almost no power...It actually seems a little dangerous to do that...

you don't want to be at low RPM under load. Like going up hills or when you have s*** or other people in your car. Its bad on the engine. But if you're just cruising its not going to hurt it, but anytime i go up hills around 50mph that are steep i down shift.

damn, i must have missed something when I learned how to drive...

I normally shift at between 4-5K and cruise around 3K...4K if Im on the Hwy thanks to an oh so short 5th gear(shrug)

YOUR car was not stock at all alrsmazdaspeed. http://www.msprotege.com/vbb230/showthread.php?t=66443

and a few other threads show that u have mods on your car.
U destroyed the engine yourself and now u will have to pay out of your own pocket to fix it. Why post that u have a stock car and just out of the blue the engine blows up.
This post and others like it were getting me worried about my stock msp...But if the damage is caused by the mods than I shouldn't worry so much.

U have nothing to worry about if u have a stock car. All the cases of blown engines so far had to do with modded cars.

Calm down and OPEN YOUR EYES before you post. He said he blew his motor, he never said it was stock. He only posted one post on this thread. Why would you flame him? He wrote two sentences, neither of which even mention the word "stock", yet you jump down his throat and act like an absolute jack ass.

Also, did you notice that one of the threads you linked was to a BOV? Do you work for Mazda's warranty department? Because they are the only people who actually think a BOV will cause an engine to blow.

Jesus, I can't believe some people.
