Another fitment question

While the Speed is in the shop getting the turbo replaced (another long story) I decided to put some new wheels/tires on the beast.....found some and wondered if they would fit or rub.
The suspension on the car is stock.......

Mazda RX-8 rims
Bridgestone Potenza RE040, 225/45/18

Hard to say, the tire will be 7.5mm closer to the fender and a wee bit taller than stock. If it rubs it should be minor.

Depends on suspension set up and what wheels/offset your running as well... definitely a subjective decision on your part in what your actually looking to do with your car.

I was hoping to get past the rubbing issue, but the guy has the tires mounted and thought I might be able to use them. I personally thought they would rub.....hopefully it will work out.
Thanks

They shouldnt rub at all. I'm on 18x8.5 +48 225/45R18's and I have no rubbing at all. This includes me autoXing it too. You are in the clear my friend.

I ran around on that exact setup for a day before having my 235/40 Kumho XSs mounted, and I didn't experience any rubbing...my car is at stock ride-height.

Sweeet....that's what I needed to know. Been waiting for a while to put some new wheels on it......

Well, I finally got the darn things on. Had to wait for the shop to fix the turbo (only 3 weeks) but its running good without the smoke from the exhaust.

Guy had some old ('04) RX8 rims, with tires, and TPMS for $800. I gave him half that. I like the rims and love the meaty tires but will go down a size once the rubber wears off this set. They fill up the wheelwells but so far no rubbing. I've put about 100 pounds of lawn crud from Home Depot and it didnt rub, but it looked very, very close.

Been raining like a mother lately so I grabbed a couple pics with the Blackberry.
