Another Another New MS6 Owner

Hey all, Just picked up my MS6 2 days ago. Black Cherry Sport. Actually went to the dealer to buy a MS3 as I was on the wait list and they got it in, test drove them both, and decided for the same money (actually less!), it was stupid not the get the 6.

So far I love it, only issue is I discovered this morning that the drivers window controls for the passanger side (both front and back) do not work.

I need to wax it as I have already noticed alot of fine scratch marks on it. Is this common upon delivery or should I complain for them to wax it for me?

Also I got to say I was kinda upset about the satellite radio issue. The website clearly says Sirius sat included with complimentary 6 month subscription. However the dealer tells me you have to buy an optional part..... how can it include a subscription to something that is not there? Shady at best.

Otherwise like I say great so far. Anyone have a pic of what my car would look like with tinted windows?

Also being from Chicago I am wondering experiences with stock tires in the snow, and what if any snows people have used.

welcome fellow Illinoisan. feel free to drop me a line on any parts or service needs as I do my best to take care of locals.

the dealer should have detailed/waxed the car as part of a pre-delivery inspection service. and yes even though the subscription is included, you will need to buy the tuner box that plugs into the stock radio so it can recieve sirius signals. as for the window controls, i am betting there is a fuse missing/blown or maybe even the body control module needs flashing. i know there was an issue early on with the locks and trunk release interfacing with the computer.

I bought it from Community Mazda on 159th.

Went in this morning and talked to them. Tomorrow they are fixing the window buttons, doing an alignment, and going to re-wax car. If I am not happy with it they agreed to buff it for me.

Still no difinitive answer on if they are going to get me the satelite radio.

you can fix the windows yourself if you just go to each door and hold the window button up for about 30 seconds each one. You have to have the ignition on.

Are you sure your window lock is not on? That will turn off the control to all windows except the drivers side. Just a thought.

LOL wouldnt that be hilarious....yes I am sure. The windows work fine from the buttons on the passanger side, just can not control them from the drivers door. One cool thing about the car is that when the window lock is on, the drivers window switch is the only one the illuminates.

i checked with mazda today and they are putting a hold on all sirius kits being sold - seems they do not interface properly with the sirius satellite network and my parts guy would not even sell me the box for my wifes car.

hey ken, regarding the TMIC, wouldn't tube/fin be better than bar/plate for a TMIC/SMIC because tube/fin is better than bar/plate as far as ambient air goes? i'm just curious incase i get an ms3/ms6

actually B&P is the better choice, because it's a much better heat exchanger than the tube and fin core. The only downside to a B&P is that it flows a little less, but with less flow you get better cooling efficiency,therefore it's more widely used in tight places.

oh okay. because i've been reading up on tf vs bp all over the place and it seems that if you have direct access to air, you should go with a bp, if you don't, a tf would be significantly better than bp. i guess it all comes down to what's tested and what works.

I bought my sirius receiver and installed it and I haven't had an issue at all with it (knock on wood).

Sirius & other MS6 questions

Hi all, I am closing in on a deal on a GT in my area and have read a couple messages about having to buy additional equipment to access Sirius, even though the sticker price includes $400 plus for Sirius. What's the deal?

Also, it appears from the conversations here that I should be able to pick up a fully loaded GT with Nav for $27,500 or less. They have a demo model with Nav and 2,600 miles and are asking $27,500, (build date Dec 2005-- one of the first?) but it sounds like I wouldn't be getting any discount for the miles. Any thoughts?

I too bought a Mazdaspeed6 this past friday after going to look at the Speed3.

The Speed3 is so "hot" right now its just a huge pain to even get to see one. Let alone try to bargain for one. No incentives, no s-plan.... forget that. At first, I thought the dealers were just being pushy about them selling fast. But right after I test drove a Speed3, someone showed up and bought it. I am glad I got there early!

I was able to get a Speed6 sport cheeper than the Speed3 sport. Thats crazy considering how much more car you get.
