FINALLY! the 12" Competition M.A. subs are in and holy hell are they loud. lotsa bass in a small car=mucho happiness. ill have to take some pics tomorrow in the daylight. but all i can say is the entire car shakes so much, its nice

^^haha yea the plate rattles REAL bad, but you cant hear it in the car so idc. and surprisingly the wing doesnt rattle too bad...yet lol

^yea its ridiculous how much bass those things have, but since im usin the stock head unit, the low pass takes all the bass outta the door speakers so they sound really good now. im very satisfied

now i just need an optima battery....dimming lights isnt cool lol

You can't hear your plate rattle? Damn, wish I couldn't - can't hear it very loud, but it's def. there. Oddly enough, I don't mind the spoiler rattle though... I've got the Clarion SSS500 components up front, Boston Accoustics FX8 (or is it 6?) in the rear, and the Clarion DXZ955MC headunit so I can control absolutely everything in my system... just need to figure out how to!

btw, dynamat your doors, front ones anyway, it makes a BIG difference, at least imo.

^^yea im def dynamatting, ive been plannin for that for awhile now. the door panels up front rattle like a son of a b****. i still have the stock headunit so i cant control anythin, ill be workin on changin that sometime soon (i hear ya on figurin out how to work it lol)

i put weatherstripping in between the plates of my liscense plate and weatherstripping in my spoiler so i hardly have any rattle, and the only rattle inside my car i hear is the rearview mirror which i have to fix. im hoping by the end of the summer to have new subs, my kickers cvr12s are doing fine but i could go for something a little bit louder.

you should look into hifonics amps, they come with a remote bass control and its nice to have that mounted on the side instead of having to mess with the deck to crank the bass.

whats the rms for each of your subs?

yea my power acoustik amp doesnt have a remote bass control its got one built into the amp

and im pretty sure its 400 rms, 700 max. each. not a whole lotta power but for such a small car its deafening. i think ill be lookin into a 1440 watt amp because i think that this amp is underpowerin my subs just a little bit. but for now its cool, its insanely loud inside. outside its not that loud, which i kinda like

very nice.. i either have 300 or 400 rms on each of my subs and my amp only powers 1000amps and its working good, look into hifonics i highly recommend them.

^^im pretty sure mine are 400 each. ill be lookin at either a power acoustik amp or a niche, i know the guy at the stereo shop, he hooked me up big time. subs, amp, amp kit, and install (no labor charge) got it all for 600 bucks, no s***

my whole audio setup would have retailed around $4k (Canadian) including install, but I only paid $1800

^not bad. gotta love knowin the right ppl. i REALLY need an aftermarket head unit tho, one with a subwoofer pre-amp rca, cuz the line inverter i have on the stock setup doesnt run all the bass to the woofers, the mid-range bass and the really deep bass dont play very well :-\ but they do kick real nice with my competition bass cd. look at it like this, theres so much bass i cant see straight (literally) lol. but yea i need a mid and low pass on my door speakers

unrelated: my passenger headlight burned out grrrr (pissed) i just changed it in the dark...what a b**** lol the stock bulbs are no where near as bright as my apc 4000ks (lasted 4 months)

i had the same problem, so my quick and easy (and cheap) fix was to bungee cord it to the back of the rear seats. kind of ghetto, but until i can get my custom box built, it does the job.
