They make these for other cars but not our Speed 3's yet. Once you remove the TMIC duct you have alot of room for air to come in your grill and bypass your radiator. This should help once summer hits.

He probably made it himself. Its just a sheet of aluminum or something with space cut out for the hood latch.

I had a badass carbon fiber one on my old XRS :o)

Hey thats great man. I just got the Begi in and rocking.... I think I'll do something similar. My thought was a similar piece in the duct over the engine to push air to the back of the vent, so it funnels down over the manifold and downpipe area.

Id leave all the existing ducting and fab an aluminum sheet to block off the front 3/4 of the vent over the block. Does this make sense? I guess it would also allow the intake and battery venting to remain in place as well. With the Begi being a litle smaller, Im not quite as worried about the radiator as the bigger TurboXS guys would be.

I dinged my hood closing it on tools (I'm a douche!!!) I may try to make a naca duct to blow cold air on the turbo just like that. I agree tho that the smaller Bell and Cork cores may not present this problem but the Turbo XS blocks the whole front. The radiators only cool air source is the upper grill opening.

Very good idea!
Scc magazine had an article, in it they stated that naca ducts must adhere to a very specfic shape to be efficient. Most aftermarket ones are shaped wrong. I asume you will be fabbing this up yourself though?

If i find that article i'll post it up for you.
