amps under seats

Anyone done this, what amps could you fit under there.

And pic request for any setup like this

I have a amp under both of my seats in my MSP and also had that setup in my P5. Don't have any pics but I'll try to find the sizes of the amps.

it works great. just put the heater vents on top of the amp, but be careful not to break them. some people have cut them off, but why lose the functionality?

Screw the people in the back I say lol, pics would be awesome, or descriptions of how the wiring was ran (through the center console, around it?)

I want the functionality of my hatch back :(

My pics are somewhere on here. I've got large amps underseats. you've got about 23" of width to play with. height isn't toomuch of a problem, depth is sufficient for most chassis.

AS far as wiring goes, power is ran along the driver's side under the doorsill to a dist block, then to my subamp under the driver's seat, across the back/underside of the console to power my 4ch under the pass seat. Grounds for everything in my car are pulled from under the bracket at the rear of the console. Rca's run down the pass side doorsill 2m to the 4ch, 4m for the sub amp which goes over the hump just behind the shifter. speaker wire for the fronts runs up under the console and under the carpet to the kicks wher eit's run straight to the doors.

ANd for the additional fun. my power/ground/switched signal comes from under the console (couple relays goingon tucked inthere) to work switching for my carputer and screen. Audio goes through a digital coax down the pass side prettymuch along the RCA's up to my deck.

I have both of my amps under the seats. I ran 4 gauge down the center console to a T distorbution block that sits just behind the e-brake...there is a braket that holds the back of the console down that I had to remove to do this. Both amps are grounded on the rear bolt of the e-brake. Works for me (thumb)

I got my big ass Infinity amp under the driver's seat. Cut the heater vent. Yeah, screw those occasional backseat people. They should STFU and not be scared by my driving. It also screws them a bit on foot room and impedes the rear floor mat. Again, screw those back seaters.

Thanks for the recommendations and advice on wiring.

Poseur I looked through some of your posts and couldn't find anything, nice gf tho.

ive got a nine.1 (14" long and 8" wide and like 2" deep under one, then a kicker 250.2 under the other, with the xover for my comps next to it..

hmm, well this is all I can find at the moment. WHat all are you really trying to see? there's honestly not TONS to it. 4 bolts hold your seats in. Pull them out and you've got TONS of room to work with. Be careful when you go to pull the driver's seat as there's a pair of wires connected down there. you'll need to unplug the connector. This is an older amp of mine. I believe thatone to be about 18" in width. Fit just fine. 4x85wRMS, I used it bridged to my front channels for a good bit of the time. (mmm power) One thing to keep in mind with going underseat is accessability to your gain/crossover controls. On that amp, I oriented them towards the door-side of the car so I could just barely access from under the edge of the seat if I needed to.

Thanks (thumb)

I already have everything wired up (but in the hatch=no room) so looks like I'm going to rerun my wires and probably run the power down the center console so it can split there.

Secured your amps just by tapping into the metal under them?

No
Screw, glue, tape, or velcro a board the the floor under the carpet. Then mount the amp over the carpet, to the board.

Sevsev if you're ever going to be putting in aftermarket seats, it looks like these setups won't work with the seat brackets - just something to consider.

I just put velcro on the bottom of my amp, 2 strips on the sides and it will stick to the carpet. The carpet will act as the soft portion of the velcro.
