Matthew said:so mazda is underrating these things now? i read on mazdas site says 238hp for the 6spd and 197hp for the auto. thats a far cry from 230+ WHP. and i disagree about the rotary and everything to love. i owned a TURBO FC and that thing was the biggest money pit (yes even bigger than my p5) and biggest headache i have ever owned. i loved the car, but it was nothing but problems, and it had only 70 some thousand miles. plus rotarys are KNOWN to suck at emissions. etc etc. im not impressed.
I've seen them for around 25k for the "base" model with the rotary that makes even LESS power than 238. And for 25k, that drops the RX-8 in a competitive class yet again....against the RSX-S (23k loaded), WRX and SRT-4 (less than 20k loaded with factory incentives...) all of which I'd rather have.xFLiPsTyLeZx said:completely stock u can get the 8 for about 25-26k. and thats sticker price too. juss take off the 18in rims, the factory kit, and a few other overpriced options.
That is the reason why I prefer the RX-8 over all it's competitors. What's 300 ponies if you cant slap the vehicle into a curve very very fast. The power is enough and the car is at least 200 pounds lighter than it's competitors beside the S2000 honda that's a POS to me.boostisgood said:You guys need to drive one, and realize it handles better then cars that cost twice as much.Remember, thats Mazda's thing, handling.
