Am i safe?

I just recently installed a MBC,i was at 7psi before now i turned up to 10psi.Is it safe? My mods include BOV,FMIC,Down pipe, full 3' exhaust, and external wastegate.oh yeah and my car has 80k miles on it.So should i keep it that high or turned back down to 7?(shrug)

I would turn it back down and pick up an EMS of some sort first. You should be ok but a EMS would really be a good idea in the near future.

engine management system

a couple of choices include S.S. AFC
and unichip

do some searching and you should get some good answers
their are HUNDREDS of post covering these two products

^what he said. There should be some threads stickied at the top of this section that discuss your options for engine management. If you can't find something though just ask.

The ems will allow of to control the amount of fuel and timing on your car. AFC= air fuel controller, only allows you to control and tune fuel, but not timing.
Microtech/Haltech= are both full standalone systems that will control both fuel and timing.

AFC"s are cheaper but lack the full control.

Hope it helps a little.

there's a sticky on top of this section that says something like "msP EMS solutions". It has some good info.

basically here's how it plays out from my understanding:
cheap/easy/lowboost/small power: AFC (only controls air/fuel)
1 step up, big power capabilities: Unichip (controls timing & a/f)
1 more step up: MPI (same as unichip, more capabilities)

the big guys (full standalone): Haltech, microtech...

if you want a little more driveability, power, and safeness you should probably get EMS. it's sooooo worth it. If you just want moderate power, you're probably cool at 9-10psi with the AFC. they're like 380 green, new. more power and even safer, work your way up the ladder: unichip >> MPI >> microtech >> haltech...

Yea the Split-Second AFC from Protege Garage runs you $319.99 I think shipped for Ver-I. Version-II is another 50 bucks. Really good value for the safety net it will provide you running 10psi. My next step after I install the AFC is an upgraded intercooler then 10psi.

it depends on how far you want to go with the vehicle the type of EMS you should get but yes i wouldnt go above 8 withouth ems. also you should get some 1 step colder spark plugs just to be safe.
