No news on the car - just been driving the crap out of it for the past few weeks. Finally got my last bracket on the trans (trans upper/driver side to mount) - that stiffened it up a little bit so not so much flex on the exhaust (which seems to hate flexing......exhaust leaks FTL....).
I was making a U-turn the other night - and man......I drug the front over the very edge of the curb....scraped all to hell.
I'm looking for a cheap bodykit now. Doesn't have to have OMG carb0n f1berz on it....just something simple yet subtle. Then.....get ready for this.....50 dollar roller paint job. I'm gonna do it on my roof (clearcoat is eating away presently) for test. Looking to fill in the roof rack to make the transformation complete. So, roller paint roof I guess is next on the list of things to do. Shouldn't be too hard, and will get my hands prepped for "How To" paint the rest of the car.
The reason I'm looking at the rollerpaint idea - we just finished a friends mustang (old foxbody). At first (like 1-2 coats) I was like... "...seriously....wtf are we doing?" It looked really bad. Then...the more paint we put on, and wetsanding every 3rd painting pass - it started to level out and cover completely. Finally - after 8 coats - 4 wetsanding sessions - rough/smooth cut and buff session - glazing = that thing shines and the paint (seriously!) is perfect! I was sold.
Now.....to pick a color. Rustoleum doesn't have that many colors to choose from. I was thinking about safety orange, just for the hell of it......lol.
