Already have to go back to the dealer...

Damn. It's been only 6 days since I've got my MSP and I already have to go back to the dealer.
There is a coolant leak from a hose near the radiator. Also, a fog light isn't working. Not to mention the alarm trigering every time someone was looking at my car (I've now put my sensor to almost the min sensitivity and it seems ok now). The first night that I got my car the alarm woke me up at 5 am!!

Otherwise these minor problems, I'm still very satisfied! I just love the power and grip (the look and the sound system also!).

Anyone else with minor problems only after a few days (or even major)?

Least they are somewhat minor things.

And the alarm is not broke, its the just cars way of saying

"HEY!! wakeup!! Drive me!"

:D

I have (2) Mazdas - love them both! I haven't been pissed yet.

I 'especially' Love My MAZDASPEED!

And; I know my wife loves her '02 ES.

Of course; small issues are common on any new car.

It has been my experience that every car I have bought new had one or two minor issues to be settled after being driven off the lot. Never anything major but it does piss you off considering you just bought a spanking new car. To me it just always seems worse after spending a bunch of cash, possibly experiencing slight buyers remorse, and then something trivial puts you over the edge. Good luck with the repairs!

Not true. Most of my honda's were first year cars. Only things I ever had to to do with them was replace tires and change the oil. Oh, and the 97 prelude had a squeaky seat that never went away. Paint chipped to easy on the 2000 civic, as well as the windshield but that was it.

I heard that they turn that proxy alarm up to full blast before you take it off the lot.

Mine is turned WAY down. If I parked her in a parking lot, every exhaust that would drive by or even air movement would set it off:mad:

Oh well, I turned it down, and it's ok now :D

Other than that, I have had the car since last Tuesday, 300 miles now and still *knock on wood* doing fine

small question about the alarm... i saw the thread that said u can adjust the alarm underneath the dash but i looked under there and i couldnt find a nob or anyhting like that, could i get a lil bit more description?

It's right on the steering column. It's a small black box ziptied to some wires. the knob is white. Turn it counterclockwise to turn it down :D

And also tap on it and you will see a flashing red led. The box is a bit bigger then a Zippo lighter.

Ok, got my car fixed. It took 2 hours!! For the fog light, it was a wire that got cut because the fog light wasn't installed properly (wtf?). As for the coolant leak, I didn't understand what the guy said/did but it seemed a bit tricky. The good thing is that it is now fixed. Let's hope that it will take a while before my next visit to my dealer!

Nothing is more annoying than thoes damn alarms. I work on a lot with 150+ mazdas and at least 3 of them always have a over sensitive alarm. A freaking truck will go by and set off the alarm. So I go in to get the keys to shut it off. By the time I get the keys to shut the alarm off...the damn thing shuts off. It's never ending!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just turn them doen until the only thing that sets it off is a stern smack on the windsheild.

I hear you on this...

The 2nd night I owned my car, I had to go back to the dealer to show them a form I forgot at home. I parked in front of the dealership (which backs right onto a major road).

EVERY time a car/truck/moped/suv/motorcycle/4wheeler/fartcan went by my car beeped like it was pissed...

Just a little :o

That night I went home and turned the thing down.......way down. to what 1st MP3 in NH said :D

The funny thing is, on the lot the 3 other MSP's for sale didn't do it, which lead me to believe that they turned it up when preping the vehicle
