Any of you guys have any experience with these? http://www.alphasonik.com/frameset.html Pretty hard to tell, but they seem to be possibly worthwhile. Mostly the PMA640HCA 4ch and the PMA1000DA intrest me.

Prettymuch I need atleast a high power 4channel and ofcourse a similar subamp would be nice. eventually, as I'd possibly like to build a falsefloor amprack in the future, and ofcourse matching components are always nice, but I'll need to sell some stuff to afford that. Mostly I just don't have a ton of cash to drop onthis, but I need some reliable, clean power.

Sound Stream is to Power Acoustik
as
Alphasonik is to Audiobahn

the q-reference ccity sells, i didn't have any good or bad experiences with. i donno what that says about their higher line tho. they USED to be really good, but took a dive, now they are trying to regain popularity under the audiobahn wing...

yeah, i know they USED to be great amps. i haven't heard anything outstanding about them recently:( they may still be pretty good, but last i checked they tended to have a high price tag, and if quality has dropped, then they aren't worth it.

are u having problems with power now. seems you keep buying more and more stuff. you'd get better results most likely just learning to get the most out of what your using now. buying new gear isnt always the best thing to do when trying to acheive a better sound esp. for someone on a budget.

MOI? buying new stuff? umm... I bought the cheap 4's to replace the eDi mids I blew after a bit of saving and waiting to buy. The amps I have are problematic at best. As I've mentioned quite a bit before, I've had to send them both off many times. Infact, they're both acting up again, and I'll hopefully be sending them both back in one last time soon before my 1year is up.

I know that some of you guys have been in the industry and competition circles more than me and that's why I ask these questions here. I assure you, however that I've got a fairly good grasp on what I have and what's possible, Infact when it's all functioning properly, I really like whereit's at, and save for some tweaking, etc would likely be very pleased and "done" but I truely don't like having to pull my amps every couple of months to send them in for repair. Power-wise I'm fine, but of course I'd prefer to have some headroom, but What I'd really like is some stability. Not a stereo that I half-expect to not work everytime I hop in my car.

Snds> Is that sufficient reasoning, or is it still just a waste of money for an ignorant greenhorn such as myself?

It really ******* blows how everyone USED to make good amps *ugh* ahwell I'll likely windup with something inferior and such, I don't care as much anymore. As long I wind up with amps that work, sound somewhat like what I've heard from my setup lately, and I don't have to get them repaired every othermonth, I'll be happy with whatever.

dude, chillax. try to get some US Acoustics amps. they rock for the price. if your looking to spend a little bit more, mtx is more than decent. or some dei amps are very good. hifonics is more than decent right now...

face> sorry man not attempting to direct any'a that at you, just getting annoyed with some of the elitist attitude that gets flung around..

Thanks, though All of those brands are ones that're on my list but for some reason I have yet to really look seriously into, I'll start on that now.

what kind of power are you really looking for? the new RF amps damn near double their rated CEA-2006 power;) i can get you some birth sheet specs if you want them.

the new RFs are kinda nice. The power and the looks. Alphasonic has an AUdiobahn type problem in that they spend more $$ on the beauty of the product (they do look good) than they do on the design and performance of the product.

RF stuff's fine, but the power series are just too huge. I'm still wanting to keep it under-seat atleast for now. Have toomuch crap to carry around to be takingup my precious hatch space with pretty looking setups that'll get crap piled ontop of 'em. Honestly looks mean jack squat to me, and the more I think about it, the less likely I am to ever relaly build any sort of display. If I'm ever at that point I'll have the moeny to have a real car and a playcar, and I'd imagine at that point I wouldn't be concerning myself with scratching for something decent.

elitest, not sure if i should be proud of that moniker or offended lol no can't be me, elitest dont rock 7 year old gear. if anything i strive for the cheapest route to the best sound. may not seem that way to some people because i will push more expensive gear, but i'm also a person that takes that equipment and use it for several years,

i didnt know you were having such problems with your amps. i know you were having componet set issues but didnt know u had any amp issues.

and beleive me you never stop learning better install tricks. just reinstalling the same things ive come up with better sounding results with the install the second time around even though i had yet to install the eq. didnt mean to offend you. it just seems i read hundreds of posts daily about people wanting new equipment after new equipment after new equipment, and it just seems you were one of the guys that was always installing a newly aquired piece of equipment to pull it out and try something else.

The alphas look cool, I'll give them that. I've seen a few installs in magazines with them, but none were strictly SQ installs so I wasn't paying attention. The thing to be careful about is that alot of companies are selling flash right now.

Back when people were sticking amps under their seats, companies had to focus on sound quality. now the focus is on show quality and turning heads. RF used the same design for years but it seems that in the past few years they've changed their design 3 or 4 times. It doesn't necessarily mean they are making a bad product that doesn't sell, but it does mean they are spending more money on asthetic design than they did in the past.

I'm using a pair of MTX amps that came out before this flash craze. Flat black with a chrom logo in the center. They are both only 9"x9"x2" so they will fit almost anywhere. I bought them off ebay for a fraction of what these new amps cost and they work fine. Sure they don't sound as good as a top of the line Phoenix Gold amp but my ears aren't that picky on a day-to-day basis. If they break, I can replace them 3 or 4 times before I spend as much as I would on a new amp.

What you've got sounds best in the audio world...until you hear something that sounds better. The trick is to find something that sounds better but doesn't bust your wallet. Only you can decide that though.

back in the day competitors would close up their vehicles if they saw you coming with a camera. they didn't want anyone to know what they were running or how it was installed. nowadays you either have to go all out show install, or strictly stealth install. IMO it's easier to do a showy install than a stealth install.
