I need winter tires but my plan is to get some good all season performance type tires, use them in the winter, then use them full time after my stock rubber wears out. What is a good tire to look at? Anyone currently running on a good all season tire? Or would it be smarter to just get cheap winter tires? and if so which ones? Thanks

if your plan is to switch the tires every winter, getting all seasons for the winter isn't the best move. (you might as well just put snow tires on) unless you don't get that much snow and want to hang on to as much of that performance you're used to with the stock tires. financially, it makes a lot more sense to just get some cheap snow tires and put them on steel wheels. I'd recommend green diamond tires. I've had them the past 2 winters and can't say enough about them. (quality vs price) they literally have chunks of diamond in the tread.

If the idea of having your tires switched every winter and spring sounds like a pain in the ass, you can always look into getting some all seasons.... it'll be a sacrifice though

I have Pirelli P Zero Nero M&S, dont know about Snow handling ( dont plan too Ive got a set of p5 rims for the winter) but as far as daily driving they are great, less noisy then the RE040s and just a better ride overall

Still haven't decided what to do about my summer tires but as far as winter i'm trying to get some 15" steelies but tirerack doesn't have steel wheels for the MSP...maybe i'm just dumb and can't find them but if anyone knows where to get them lemme know. Thanks

i had the dunlop graspic ds-1 snow tires on my ride for 3 winter seasons, worked very well

yeah i've heard a lot of good things about the dunlops...any idea where i can pick up a set new or used? and what about the steel wheels?
