All Out Run For 1 Mile!

Ever wonder how fast your car really is? I found out there is a place in Goliad that has a mile long track that you can find out. The date is in Oct, so if anyone is interested let me know and I'll get more info. I wouldn't mind going down in a group and take a run at it. So far there is a few 911s and boxters that hit the 130 make. It would be could if we could go up and put a protege on the list next to them.

where is goliad? (time wise from houston)
my mp3 i took over the 140 mark but the msp i only got it above 135ish. but it would be nice to do it from a stop and legally. just pedal to the metal until the road ends. a true race.

Well, if we can do 105+ in 1/4 mile, then 130 shouldn't be too out of reach.

This should help us finally get to the truth about how fast the car really is. I still say no way can it hit 130. More like 110. Any body want to go and prove me wrong I'll by the beer!!! (AS LONG AS YOUR OF AGE!!!)

Well I have to say, it aint for kids! 175 for the event. The good thing is we have almost 3 mo the save up. I'll be going.

yeah but dont you have an lx or dx? i remember your car from the texas meet. the green one. i hit over 120 at least once or twice a week cuz im always runnin late to work in the mornings. i swear the 2 liter protege can go over 135. if i go ill take you for a ride at those speeds.

im pretty sure i could hit my governor at 138 in a standing mile, but im not gonna pay $175 to do it, sorry.

Yea it's an LX. But I have almost every thing an MP3 has plus some. The only thing I don't have that MIGHT help you out is the lip kit. But even with that the MP3 only had 10 (140 more hp then the LX (130). That and there are other LX and P5s that say they can do 130-140. (rofl)

But I don't know it paying 175 to find out for sure is worth it. I've already beat a couple of MP3s and civics so I don't really care. I thought it would be fun but god not for 175.

It would be cool to get a big group together for a race night though.

i've ran my mp3 to 138, it just took it 18 days to get there.

If I were to spend 175, I'd rather spend 25 more and take my car out to college station when they hold track days out at TX world speedway.
