As stated in the title, the airbag warning light in my wife's 2003 Protege 5 started blinking. The pattern is 3 flashes, a pause, then 7 quicker flashes and then it repeats. Can someone tell me what it means or can direct me to where I can find the meaning? Thanks.

I had the same Airbag Code in my P5. I checked the airbag connector under the passenger seat and it was a little loose. After snapping it back together the light has stayed off.

I will look for a loose connector. Thanks.

I had a similar prob. My airbag light was flashing 3 times pausing and then repeating. I did as emartoo did, unplug the connector under the driver seat and you will be good. Its funny such a small thing can cause such a headache.

Actually, I spoke too soon and need some advice. I was driving to work. I felt the car hesitate, all the gauges started bouncing and the airbag light started flashing 3 times pausing and then repeating 3 flashes. I disconnected the airbag sensor under the drivers seat and everything was fine for a while. Then driving down the road, it happened again. Within 3 minutes of hesitation, the car will eventually stall. After it stalls, it will not start without a jump. I took the car to autozone and they came back with no codes. Any suggestions?

Start by checking the alternator and battery. Sounds like the voltage may be getting out of whack, high or low. In that state the electronics start acting up and the car won't run. If a jump will start the car then the battery is probably going, but it may be the victim rather than the cause. My mother had a Buick when I was a kid where the alternator started putting out 19V (or something like that) and it burned through several batteries before the mechanic figured it out.

To my knowledge the wire you're referring to is for the seatbelt. I don't usually wear mine so unhooked it so the seatbelt light would quit flashing
