air/fuel ratio gauge

has anyone hooked up an air/fuel ratio gauge. I want to get one and would like to know in advance how to hook it up. I was going to get the gauge from prosport gauges.

not sure about the 3's but in my pro5 i had to go to the exhaust shop so they could weld in a bung for the wideband o2 sensor... cheap like $20 bucks to get the weld done. If you do get a afr gauge be sure to get a wideband. If it is of decent quality it will come with decent instructions. The AEM UEGO came with everything i need except a drill, torch, and welder to get the o2 bung put in place. Oh the bung goes after your cat

I just installed mine a few weeks ago. There is a wire to tap into under the hood. Next to the battery there is a cover that you take off and you would see 2 harnesses. It is the harness closest to the front of the car. On the side of the harnedd closest to the passanger side of the car it is the 5th wire down and it all white. You tap into that one.

I jacked this pic from a link in another thread, this is the wire:

If you have a narrow-band gauge, you can tap into the harness. However, the resuslts are not very useful. If you have a wide-band, do not tap into the harness, it will not work and may screw up your engine management.

A wide band bung should be before the cat; the cat changes the reading by reducing the amount of hydrocarbons getting out so you will not see as rich as the engine is really running.
