For those living in high mold, pollen area. I removed my air filter this am to check it out because when turning on the air it smells and not pleasant my air filter is lime green. Is it normal to be this early for the air filter to be like this? Are there any washable air filters like K&N i was told to stay away from them because it will cause codes on the car

There are and If maintained properly, the K&N drop in should not generate any codes.

Keep it in the original OEM Box.

I have k&N over 3000 miles no issues, the idiots that clean them over oil them or do not let them dry completely thats what causes the issue out of the box there fine. If you clean them yourself drop the OE back in let ithe k&N dry overnight and don't go nuts with the reoiling process and your fine

So what is the proper way to clean the K&N filter I thought you can spray it with a garden hose and let it dry

Buy a K&N recharge kit and follow the directions, when it gets dirty the garden hose removes the cleaner solution

I'm a bit confused...the original poster talked about his air not smelling nice, presumably the air from the vents inside the car?

If so, could someone tell me where the cabin air filter is located on the CX7?

cheers

Good to see that people on this forum are willing to help. Satz is asking about where the cabin air filter is. No one is suggesting that this adds hp. Read his post

He is referring to the second sentence from the OP:
...when turning on the air it smells and not pleasant...
