Aftermarket Sound System

I'm looking to put a nice aftermarket sound system in my 2003 mazda 6s. I'm planning on getting a subwoofer, speakers, and possibly an amp. no new head unit though. I really have no knowledge about this, so can someone please point me in the right direction and give me suggestions to what brands and certain models I should get. thanks
