Aftermarket pads????

Hawk Blues should be available any day now. I would contact Hawk directly. They get back to you very quickly.

Hey, I didn't hear from Hawk. But I got some HP +'s from Topbrakes.com. Just got em yesterday, I'll use em at the glen at the end of the month and let you know how they go.

I got a reply from Hawk today. All he said was that they didn't have any pads for our size/shape above the HP+, yet. I replied back and said we were expecting blues by aug and asked when they would be offered. Let you know when I hear back.

Are they the right fittment??? Sound like the price is the same for Mazda 3 ans for the speed... its kinda weird..

Does the rear brakes help with panic braking too?> is there a brake force distribution to the rear wheels on ms3? Just a questions. Would be nice to know.

There is no more store which sells Hawks pads for Mazdaspeed 3?

There is you other pads more powerful than that of origin?

I read somewere that we share the same front brakes as the Volvo S60. I am very positive about this. I will dig up were I read this and post again...

Because of the relationship between ford/volvo/ mazda.

More pad info - Hawk R4-S avaliable for MS3

I have a new best friend that works at Porterfield Brakes (Thanks for all your help Wendy) which is a big distributor of Hawk R4-S pads. She did a little digging and found that our pads may look like the Volvo S40/V50 T5 (AP 915) but they have a different thinkness - not something I would use. As for the Audi connection - Yes - same as the 06+ S4 V8 editions (which have a different part number AP 915.1).

This information is for the front pads - the rear pads are the same as the regular 3.

Hawk part numbers for the MS3 are:
Fronts AP 1186 R4-S $129.95
Rears AP 1095 R4-S $89.95

Do not look at the website/pdf/catalog - the numbers are incorrect.

Cheers!

Peter

What do you need a photo for? Pads are pads. :)

Weird thing. My car sat for a day and now all of a sudden the pedal is much stiffer. Makes no sense, but I'll take it!

Quite simply to be on they are the maid.

Because I ordered of AutoExe and they do not go….

You put that of AUDI?

i was going to say porterfield makes custom brake pads applications. they can put any pad material on your brake backing custom.

for custom pads for my accord race pads they came out to 180-200 dollars cant remember somwhere around there. but these were full race pads. way more aggressive than hp plus.

i dont think hp plus would hold up on this cars weight if you brake hard at all.
last time i tried hp plus on my 06 wrx pads were literally gone after 3 30 minutes sessions at button willow (and these were brand new installed the day before)

so for for hard stop someting more than hp plus like hawk blue etc... for autocrossing hp plus should be ok

Im surprised Porterfield hasnt listed pads. Screw Hawk if youre talking to someone with Porterfield!

I would like to hear about pads from either:

Porterfield
Ferodo

all i can say is the wrx pretty similar in weight i think to the mspeed 3. and 3 30 min session of hard hard braking pads were gone. my friend tried the same thing on his sti. etc.. same result.

but if you drive carefully and slow then hp plus would work but then its not as fun. Its safer to spend the extra money on good track pads, street pads will not be safe enough for me at least.

Porterfield were very very helpful. just give them a call. According to them they can take any material they carrry which is a lot and put them on any pad you want! and the price was reasonable. i used raybestos st41 i think it was because thats all they had at the time and i needed the pads in 3 days.

raybestos was a little more expensive than some other comparable stuff.

also ive ordered from cobalt friction race pads for my integra and it worked out well, i had good results from both places, porterfield is in socal so it was local for me

but def upgrade pads for HPDE events and upgrade fluid to ate blue or something like that

i just called hawk and they said they have HPS, HP+ and ceramic pads available now, and should have HT-10's the first of the year.... i have the ht-10's on my vette and my dad's z06, i am seriously considering them for the ms3.
