After Market Head Unit Kit

CX9 SportOwner,
The Rosen monitor are either driven by the HU or individually. Both headests have their own built in DVD Player. It turned out very cool, we can either use the HU DVD player for either or both of the two headrests in addition to viewing the movie in the HU (while driving). (gossip)
The Rosen monitor lights up in red, very similar to the red/orange OEM color, very good fit too.
Since I installed everything, I have extensively tested every feature on both HU and monitors and so far, everything works well, except the backup camera at night. Will be replacing the backup light with LED for more light and hope to better the image quality, again at night.
As for the Clock / Info screen, it does not work, although the time is accurate today, in the fall, I'll be an hour ahead I guess.
I installed my Mic above the rear view mirror and it seems to work well.

Compared to the OEM system, the Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT sounds much better, I have Sirius, HD Radio, Ipod Control, SD slot (which works very well), DVD, 2 zone output, Navigation and last but not least Bluetooth.

Can't get much more factory and clean than your setup.

I have a theory on how to keep the clock functional. I will post when I find out for sure.

Which system did you replace?

You got my attention!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought of unplugging the battery and plugging it back up at 12, then just adjusting the HU Clock.
Do you think this may work?

What is the difference between the Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT and the Z120BT? Crutchfield only sells the newer unit now. Is the Z110BT upgradable via software or are there hardware differences?

The Z120BT adds, Sphere, Eco something or other and Pandora (Free internet Radio) when linked to your Iphone or even Blackberries, very cool feature.
I believe Pioneer will have an update very soon to update the 110BT into 120BT.
Will keep you posted when I hear about it.

That is what I was thinking. As silly as it sounds, it would be sweet revenge on all the flashing 12:00 clocks we've all had to put up with everytime the battery gets disconnected. Clock judo.

IslandTractor,
The 110BT upgrade to 120BT is finally out. @ $200 is a bit expensive. I'll just wait until prices go down "hopefully"

I went to a local shop to see the z120BT but they did not have an active display mounted yet. The Z110BT and it's smaller sibling were plenty impressive though.

Seemed to me that just about every feature that you get with factory Nav+Bose is available with the Z120BT plus upgrading four speakers (8 speakers in marketing talk)and adding the backup camera.

I got a quote of about $2500 for the whole schebang installed including $600 for the Hertz speakers front and rear. Tempting. They thought the price would fall pretty quickly in the next few months too. They also suggested putting in just the two front speakers first to see if I would be happy with the stock rears.

I haven't pulled the trigger on the vehicle yet but am now considering a base touring rather than grand touring and adding the Pioneer set up. Would save about $2500 overall compared to GT plus nav and bose but will give up the blind side monitors and sunroof. Most everything else is about the same. I really don't like having a sunroof so that would be a benefit not a loss.
