Afm

I'm looking for some info on the air flow meter. as in, what is the inlet ID and the outlet ID?

I'm going to try using it on my S5 (89-91) Rx7. They are the same style and even plug right up. But the Rx7 one is much smaller and look to be much more restrictive. But before i go out and buy one, i wanted to get better info than just looking at pictures of them...

Also, I already know that the RE/20b afm are larger than my 2nd gen rx7 unit. But is there any difference between the RE and 20b ones? both are N390? I'm trying to compare it also to the JDM MX6 klze afm. These are also larger than the 2nd gen S5 rx7 flow meters. And look to plug right in to the harness. I want to see how the 13b-re/20b flow meters compare to the klze one, to see which one i am going to choose for an upgrade.

So I take it that you have aftermarket ECU to tune around the different input voltage?

Cant help you with the ID measurements, but I do know that I had an issue getting the Emanage to recognize the output from the 20B AFM. According to the documentation it should read from 5V (no load) to 0V (full load). However I found that the value was nearly always around 3.9V on idle.

I NEVER got my ecu to work with the 20B AFM. It seemed to run extremely rich so I am wondering if the output from the meter is correctly documented... is it reversed?, does it use some type of pulse output? etc.

The issue will be that the 20B AFM is calibrated differently to the 13B one (i.e. you cannot simply change the two and get the engine to run correctly).

If you have any knowledge on the 20B AFM then I would be happy to hear it.

I been looking into the 20b AFM, but theres almost no information out there. I am using the stock Rx7 ECU, but have an SAFC NEO to do some tuning with.

I just purchased the N390 RE AFM. I hope to see an improvement with it over the stock Rx7 AFM.
