Is this EBC worth it? or should I go with a greddy? I haven't read too much about the AEM so Im guessing not many people are running with one. Just wanted to know if its worth 300 or should I just get one of the Greddy EBC's.

Thanks.

it's fairly new. and for what it is, i think it's probably a good deal. aem makes quality products.

Yeah I figured it would be a good product, the only problem I have with it is that it doesnt read vaccum. I was gonna replace my boost/vaccum gauge with that one but I will need to buy a seperate vaccum gauge if I decide to get this. Im just tired of the spike issues im having with my JoeP MBC.

oh ok."

I think the only reason to get that unit is if you have the AEM Uego Wideband so you can match it. Otherwise just go with a Greddy, HKS, or ApexI EBC... If you run a search on this I believe a couple of people are currently running it

Tru Boost Update
on: September 14, 2006, 06:31:53 AM
The code for the Tru Boost boost controller gauge has been updated. The following changes were made:

1. The tru boost now displays vacuum readings as a negative number, "-XX"

AEM makes quality products, I say go for it...boost spike does suck, I am in the market for a EBC for the same reason. My turbo xs MBC spikes only a little bit, but it always worries me.

glad they updated it with that.. not reading vacuum is for the lose. I read my gauge in vacuum more than I read it in boost :)

I have the AEM Tru-Boost and Yes, it does read vaccum....and is very easy to read on the go. The AEM Boost Controller is designed for high horsepower applications, so our little 8-15+ psi is nothing and will work just fine. I have no complaints thus far....

Thats good to hear, I guess that will be my purchase. Got a couple of questions... Will it fit into a normal gauge pod? and how easy/hard was the install?

Its your basic 52mm gauge size, and install was fairly easy....depending on where u mount the guage. The instructions are easy to read, so u shouldnt have any problems installing the Boost Controller.....

That is exactly what interests me in this unit. Good point.

So you dont have any spike with this unit? And did you have boost spike before this unit with a mbc?

Ive always had spiking, but i believe its due to my exhuast cutout....but, i could be wrong. The AEM Unit has a function to eliminate most spiking....ive played with it a bit, but really havent researched on how to properly "tune" for it. I tried a few settings and saw a small spike, but its still there..
