What do u guys think if the AEM tru boost gauge and controller ? Is it worth the money? I need a new boost gauge and I have a manual b/c I also recently just bought the wideband...

well, i wanted one for the same reason, but was talked out of it by... uh... discospeed i think was his handle.
basically the component that controls boost is the solenoid, and apparently the one used in the AEM is used in a few other applications as well, and people say theyre prone to spikes. guess theyre not considerably better than an MBC in that respect.

so ill be getting a greddy profec b spec II along with everyone else when the time comes.

I got one and I like it. and it does spike a little but not to the point where i'd get rid of it(drive2)

So it's either I get that or I gotta get a new boost gauge and a ebc.. So there is only one person that doesn't like it? Anymore people that don't like it?

spikes can also be blamed on the wastegate, vacuum source, and other interrelated components

i don't notice any unusual spikes in mine... but then again you are doing the right thing be researching what you plan on getting

so 808 u say u have it and it works great for u...do u experience and spikes? if so are they a big?

it really doesn't spike for me...
i get spikes only when i down shift into high rpms and floor it... i mostly blame the spikes on the wastegate not opening up fast enough...

the highest spike i've seen was a little over 10psi and it only lasts for about a split second... the only reason i know it spiked that high is because the gauge can display your highest boost reached

the only thing that confused me at first was the setting on the boost controller... but now i understand what the numbers are... i set it at 40 with a 5.66psi spring... so at most i will hit is 8-9psi and it holds steady
