If you had both the aem and injen cai in your hands what would you put in the msp and why?

trying to deside which one to use and wich one to sell.

AEM sits lower and the Injen has annoying long recirc pipe that makes your car gobble.

so the AEM doesn't gobble as much? interesting....

well the aem doesn't have that long ass pipe. it gobbles but not as pronounced as the injen with the recirc tube. think of those whistling straws.

As long as we are comparing...

Do they both come with the CARB Sticker pre-applied or do you get to put it on yourself.

Second, Is the CARB sticker on the turbo side, or on the filter side of the MAF?

Here is your chance to support your MSP community.

Test both systems and report back with the results.

seriously...

I think there are dyno's on this forum using both. Maybe you should use that as your guideline, who cares if you can hear the turkey more in one than the other.... Its all about performance dude.

yes true.... if i have the time i will test fit and drive both and give my opinion this weekend. pics will be included.
in the meen time I will look for the dyno's and most likely choose performance.

sorry for my noob question but can you tell me what a CARB sticker is??
A CARB sticker is a little sticker that manufacturers put on their equipment to state that it has an EO# for meeting the California Air Resource Board emissions requirements. AKA the smog Nazis in California require that your intake have one of these stickers or you will fail emissions.

You know what would be awesome, is if since you have both of these in hand, you could take side-by-side pictures and close-up pictures of both kits so we can see them for ourselves. I believe I haven't seen a side-by-side picture of both intakes.

As for why am In concerned with the CARB sticker, a Turbo side CARB sticker means I can install it as a short ram and still be okay when it comes time for an inspection.

Pictures would be awesome!

Thanks!

yeah, that'll work.

I look forward to seeing the Pics, and hearing the results. I have the INJEN on my MSP, and i get big time turkey. But someone said that they think the Bent tube causes the extra noise, unlike the AEM. However i cut my tube since i have the hiboost kit, so that it only comes out 3 inches. But the turkey is still loud. I'm curious to see if there is a difference between the two.

yes no problem. both are used but full kits. will take comparison pics good idea
Thanks dude! Make sure you show us the CARB stickers :D

I'm thinking that the Turkwy will exist no matter what.

After all its created from the cavitating air wave when the TB closes the air opening. Removing the stock air box unrestricts the sound wave generated. If CAI #1 is making less noise than CAI #2, then #1 is probably more restrictive.

More restrictive means less air, which means less performance.

So you think that the turkey sound is the Air getting dumped back into the intake? I agree with you, but some on the forum still think that it is Compressor surge. There is a lot on confusion on the thread "Is Turkey Harmful" under Forced induction.
