AEM ems for Mazda Protege 01+

Does anyone know the make and model of the connectors that would be needed to go from the stock mazda connector to the AEM Unit? I'm interested in maybe doing the wiring myself, since it's one of the things I do at my job (making custom connectors).

Also, curious, if I get the connectors and rewire it so that it will connect to an AEM box, is that all I would need to hook up the AEM, or are there other connections and stuff necessary as well?

you'd still need a ford only ecu connector, and you arent going to get that sadly, because it was hard enough for us to buy multiple. you'll find out how much they cost, too.

You won't be able to find the motherboard connector (male) unless you chop it off another EECV box (according to sources in the know) or design your own which is what some companies have done. The female plug and pins (need 104) can be bought somewhere, but I'm sure you know what those specialty connector parts cost...

Pat, look up here! I've decided to not post any more, 1999 is my limit. I will just be editing old posts...:D

@Pat, Never!!!!! (butt)

Just wanted to give a few updates.
Here is a picture of the harness.

Our system will be plug and play.Not cutting or splicing.That's all for the update :)
Dude, that's phukking BEAUtiful. <3

looks good...so we're looking at $800 for a harness and how much for the tuned box? Another $1400? any cost yet? I'm not reading through 14 pages for it.

i figure it'll be pricey if the harness is $800....just curious. I love the AEM. i love it more than the haltech.

also to the people thinking they'll buy the harness and source the AEM elsewhere, I would advise against it... Beau does a lot of work to calibrate the AEM to use ALL the stock sensors. it would be more of a pain in the ass than the few dollars you might be able to save by getting it used or whatever... also I'm not sure if Beau will even sell the plug and play harness by itself or not...

I think the price of this is UNREAL! I really might have to reconsider my plans for my car.

So will this be around for a few years hehe??

Haze, if the price is the issue, just get the AEM from Beau without the harness, then it's just like all the other systems out there where you have to do some hardwiring. For those on a budget and like to do it yourself then you can save a few hundred. Just be real careful!!!! You can screw up some expensive electrical components with careless wiring.
