Advise Needed on Upcoming Purchase

Hey all
I recently had a '94 Mazda 626 but I totalled it, long sorry and quite sad. I am in the market to buy a new car and I am looking at two: Mazda Protege and Mazda Protege 5. I am planning to buy a new car this May but still have not decided which one to get. For the regular protege I was thinking of '99+. Any suggestions?

i think its probably better to get a protege 5, even though i drive a protege and assume it is pretty much the same, the protege 5 comes stock with better stuff than a protege i think. and protege 5 seem to be cheaper, but that may just be a hawaii thing, idk
