Advice On 02 P5 Manual Transmission

Look like the shifting forks are shot. Are the shift forks known to be weak on the 02 transmissions? Where the fork upgraded on an 03? Will a 03 transmission fit an 02? Is a rebuilt transmission the best option for those on a tight budget? Is a 90 day warranty the norm? Any recommendations for a good place to purchase a transmission? Thanks.

shifter fork as in internal? yeah mine broke and the replacement showed signs of it about to break again. 3rd time was a charm.

Yes the shift fork was upgraded on the 2002.5 version of the car.
At least thats what I've read countless times in other threads.

What is a shift fork?
