You need to find your Bose AMP and tap in BEFORE the signal reaches the amp. you cant really tap into the door speakers because Bose messes with the sound too much.

yikes, i have the sport edition cx-7 without the bose system:( from experience, i'm a service advisor at Mazda, it would be very difficult to try and remove the dashboard and take out all of the dash speakers, and then replace them with aftermarket speakers and components. I personally would leave your speakers alone, unless you have someone who REALLY knows what thery're doing work on them. Not to discourage you AlbanianDude, but unless someone else out here has experience with removing the BOSE system and repalceing with other speakers, I would leave them alone. good luck with that, and I would be interested to find out how it turns out.

I think he is Just adding subs.

good luck with your attempt

Each speaker is receiving limited frequency ranges from the Bose amp.
It is really designed to be as efficient as possible.

I would be curious if the rear door woofers are receiving a LP signal, or if they are BP (bandpassed). If BP, then you couldn't use that signal from the speaker wires for subwoofer purposes. If LP, then you could, and use a LOC with gain. http://www.davidnavone.com

I'm assuming you don't want to mess with the front door woofers, so you're looking for another source, like the rear door woofers. The rear door drivers are the first place to look and hope they are LP only, and not limited on the low-end.

Unless the Bose system has a port at the HU or Amp to add a sub, then your best bet is to try and tap into the signal prior to the amp, but hope you don't fry the whole system in the process. ;)

See my post on Designing a SQ active system for a complete replacement, then sell your Bose system or keep it for resale purposes.

The bose amps tend to take in a signal from the head much like any amp.
Becuase of this you can typicly tap the signal wire to the amp, which is full range, and solder RCAs to the extended wire. Then go right into any amp.

No biggie. It's the same as any car as long as one takes the time to learn how to do it without breaking things. ;)

I have actually been in contact with Bose in regards to replacing the 3.5" dash speakers with alternatives. I needed the ohm load and power ratings. Although I decided it would be best to 1) leave it alone or 2) replace the whole system, instead of trying to improve, tap into, etc.

Yes, but are you suggesting tapping into the signal and still having it connected to the Bose amp at the same time? It can be done, but it will lessen the already low voltage and probably introduce noise into the system. Let alone someone not doing it right and damaging the amp and not be warranted. Of course having a certified tech like yourself would lessen that chance. Then again, would a certified tech touch it with a ten foot pole since it is a factory integrated system under warranty?

Maybe Navone has a device for this application on his site. ??

Ah, heck with it, open the HU to create an optical output to be used with an Alpine C701/H701 processor. :)

Best option for dash speakers...disconnect them
Problem solved

The Bose dash openings are one thing going for the CX-7, is the option to create a good soundstage with the right speakers and equipment, and not have to build kickpanels. This also means keeping it stealth.

I'd love to take the dash apart to see what kind of room there is to work with around the Bose speakers. Have you seen it yet? If so, post some photos.

If its like the 6 then the factory headunit just pumps out 4 line level pairs. Its really easy to tap if you have the pin outs. Since its a parallel circuit voltage loss is basicly non existant and all the topic starter was looking for was adding subwoofers so getting signal that way would be no problem.

If he brought it to me when I was in car audio I would have done it no problem. I doubt the best buy or circuit shittys of the world would though.

Dash speakers always seem like a hell of alot more trouble then they are worth. I am using the factory locals in my truck right now and becuase the speakers off-axis response is fantastic, the soundstage sound really good. Better then any sedan I ever had.

The bose amp and speakers are staying i just wanna add subwoofers and a amp untill they make a dash kit to do a after market cd player or even a dvd i am not screwing around with the bose system i actually kinda like it.

Here ya go, this is the contact I have at Bose.
Contact her to see if there are any answers for a Subwoofer add-on.
Then post back here what you find.
She will generally go ask the techs to find a solution, if it is something they can easily suggest to the average lay person.

Is Emailing/Calling Bose really needed for something this simple?

Hey there San Fernando Valley neighbor,

If someone contacts them and says they are going to hack the system regardless, then perhaps they will steer them in the right direction and provide useful information about what to do or not to do.

So far they have communicated well and tried to find solutions for my questions.

Can't hurt to ask.
