Pedals were easy to install, and door sills too (don't mind the dirty mats..all that hiking makes them get that way).

Door sills (did it this way in my old Scion too) are pushed forward since I'm so short. Better to put them where I actually step since the seat is all the way up!

About the scuff plates, are there any problems with the door seal? I want to get a pair for the fronts but not sure how it would affect the seal.

That's what I thought, but for some reason today it didn't want to play nice after a few attempts.

I have experienced no problems at all...they fit smoothly and really sit on the door frame well.

Can you link the seller for the foot pedals? I did the door sills right away. Same style as yours. Looks great.

There are many option up on ebay for the pedal covers. The ones the OP used are no drill pedal covers that slip over the top of the gas pedal, and replace the rubber cover on the brake pedal. I have a similar set install on my car only my kit included the dead pedal as well. The ones I have don not say CX-5 on them, I already know what I drive and the only other sets I could find with the dead pedal said "Mazdaspeed" The dead pedal just had double sided tape but I removed that and used one side of some heavy duty Velcro I had to attach to the carpet.

So these pedal covers and dead pedal from eBay are no-drill pedal covers? I don't like OEM ones as not only they are expensive but also they require drilling. Your kit adds the thickness on gas pedal, does that feel differently? Any special reason why you use Velcro instead of original double-sided tape on dead pedal cover?

I think those aluminum pedals light up all-black and dark pedal area and should look very nice!

That is correct, they are no drill. They simply snap over the existing, and you'll have to remove the rubber on the brake to put that one on. They fit very securely and are a nice look.

So I ordered those and they arrived yesterday but mine smell god-awful like cheap Chinese plastic or something. They made my entire house smell when I opened the package. Did yours smell at all?

I baked mine in an old BBQ. I let the coals settle a little so they weren't too hot 170-200f and left then in until it cooled. The smell went away

I have ordered things that smelled like that. I didn't expect that smell when I ordered over the internet. I stored them open on a shelf in the garage for a month until the smell went away.

Good idea, right now they are sitting in the garage de-smellifying.
