Add me to the busted LSD list

if you *ever* had even one case of wheel hop when launching; if you ever auto crossed or tend to take your turns on the aggressive side then you will be wise to be proactive instead of reactive.

Take care of it before it takes care of you, and then don't have to feel like your driving a ticking time-bomb.

hhhhmmmm....i REALLY need to replace mine....i think ill go head...*sigh*

easier said than done though...of course you have no choice when it does break, but if not you have to go through the mission of being without a car for however long it takes to have a shop disassemble your tranny, take out lsd, take it to someone who knows what the **** theyre doin to weld our lsd the right way, take it back to the shop, put it all back together.....i dunno...i hate the idea of knowing it will evetually break though...mazda should have ****** recalled that s***.....i wonder if they even know that every single msp's lsd has broken....

it takes a shop 8 hours on the books to do a clutch, and replace the LSD. That's 1 day's worth of work.

EDIT: If you have the pre-welded LSD already in hand then you would be without a car for 2 days max including a clutch installation and grinding of the flywheel.

If you wait until it breaks then you will be like me waiting for the part for over a week and a half before a shop even touches your car. I will be without a car for almost 2 full weeks when all is said and done.

You decide which sucks more...

ya this whole thing tallrd has got me quite nervous about my car to be honest with you. I cant afford going without a car for that long. I just cant decide if my cash is better spent putting to a new car rather than fixing a broken one. THis is something that mazda should have stepped up and taken care of.

tell me about it. I have a full time job, with a mortgage, wife, live-in nanny, and 3 kids. No pressure there at all to get to and from work every day. (ughdance)

someone should post up the prices and routes for going about this... liek who offers and and the avg cost to do this.. rather then pick it out of the threads...

like pg has this this this and its smart to go with this...

su has this this and its smart to go with this...

nsnmotorsports "ect"....

Sorry, but I'd say that it's ultimately up to you to do your own research. Sure it'd be great to have ALL the information in the same spot, but due to recent....um....*issues* I don't think that certain vendors products will be endorsed here. So that just leaves more research up to you.
