I got into an accident...and my hood and grill is all messed up...would it be more expensive to buy a brand new hood and grill or should i just let the local auto body take care of my crap?

Is this going through your insurance or coming out of your pocket??? If you have control of the $$$$ ask the body shop for a detailed estimate...and see what there going to charge you for the grill and the hood and then go to carparts.com and buy a used one, save the money for yourself and just have them prep and spray the hood to match and the other necessary repairs.. when I got in an accident with my rx7 I spent $100@ the junkyard and the insurance company gave me 1500 for the repairs so I made out with $1400.00....

Buying a brand new hood or repairing your existing will still require painting..I see no reason to buy a new one unless the old one is unrepairable..And yes it depends on the insurance situation.

i think the grill was $100 and hood is $400 from dealer. at least thats what the shop repairing my car told me.
