Access to the 3rd row

I'm just wondering how to enter to the 3rd row if 2nd row has two car seats installed?

Lift up the bar on the front of the seat and slide it straight forward??

or slide it back all the way and crawl in between the two seats. either way, it'll be tight/akward

The other side should be open to use for access (attn) unless you have baby seats in both back seats, then I guess crawling through is the only way. If you have baby seats in both back seats then you should get used to crawling through tight confined spaces, it will come in handy during the Chuck E. Cheese years when they crawl up into the pipe slide system and get lost and can't figure out how to get out and start crying. So, think of it as early parenting job training.

I had never put it on since we bougth it, but soon I'll need occasionally give a ride. That's why I'm asking how to deal with the 3rd row.

we have 1 carseat in the 2nd row and the other carseat right behind it in the 3rd row... our 3rd child can get to either empty seat in the 3rd or 2nd row with ease...

our kids are old enough to walk and climb into their carseats... so this setup works really well for us...

This is actually what I was pondering too... except another possibility is if you put the 3rd row carseat on the opposite side as the 2nd row, you can use the free 2nd row seat to flip forward and access the 3rd row carseat a little easier... if you can follow that. I guess like da1 said, it depends how much your 3rd row child can help with the process.

It comes down to deciding between giving up carseat convenience or passenger convenience. Good luck!

LOL - True, so true... Lucky for me, my wife is only 4' 11", so she fits into the crawl spaces much better than me. So I usually send her in after the kids...

We use three different ways: (1) squeeze between 2nd row seats--we don't have a center tray. (2) take one car seat out--booster seat isn't latched in--and then fold 2nd row seat down. (3) if one passenger in 3rd row, child sometimes climbs through hatch.

This post made me laugh out loud - just too close to home! We also have both mid seats occupied by kid seats - I can't remember the last time we actually had the back row in the upright position.

My 6-year old just squeezes between the back of the driver's seat, and front of the mid-seat with car seat.

I normally have my kids in the second row in 2 seats, but when I'm expecting 2 passengers more (ie a full load of 6) I put one of the kids in the third row. That's the easiest thing to do IMHO.

This is what we do too. Actually our oldest one prefers to sit way in back. When I'm a passenger I ride in the middle seat next to the baby (as opposed to the front passenger seat next to the driver). If I have to get all the way in back it is a tight squeeze but I've done the same thing in a Sienna and it's a tight squeeze too.
