Acceleration Sputtering Sound

I've begun to notice a sputtering noise when I let off the accelerator during moterate to heavy acceleration over 3,000rpms. At first I thought it was the clutch making the noise then I tried just letting off the gas without engaging the clucth, and the noise was the same. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this sound...or knows what it is.

my black msp is 100% stock, btw

Please search. We have discussed this MANY times. Yes it is a problem.
Look under "Sputtering " "Stumbling" "hesitation"

are you sure the sound you are hearing isn't the turbo? are you noticing any performance problems?

"I've begun to notice a sputtering noise when I let off the accelerator during moterate to heavy acceleration over 3,000rpms"

THAT SPUTTERING NOISE IS YOUR STOCK DIVERTER VALVE. ITS NORMAL. IF YOU NEVER OWNED A TURBO CAR OR DRIVEN ONE THATS THE SOUND WHEN THE DIVERTER VALVE RELEASES THE AIR OUT WHEN THE T BODY CLOSES DOWN WHEN SHIFTING OR EASING OFF THE THROTTLE. THE STOCK DIVERTER VALVE IS JUST A RECIRCULATING BLOW OFF VALVE.

ok dude no caps needed. There is a sputtering noise and there is a sputtering in the car itslelf . Is it just the noise? The stumbing is not normal for a turbo car

O.K., For the record, I haven't noticed any performance issues at all. And the "sputtering" noise, only seems to show up when the turbo kicks in. This being my first Turbo car I'm stilll getting used to the "normal" sounds. :)

That would be your Bypass valve. When you let off the gas and have boost pressure built in the intake(intercooler side) tract it will flow out of the valve and back into your intake to the turbo. You will hear a "turkey" gobble type sound at lower boost.
