? about 5 Door

I have a question about the Mazda 6 5 Door. Is the spoiler standard on all of them or can I get one without?

spoiler is standard my friend, as is the entire sport package for the 5 door

Another thing to note is that on the 5-door, even though the spoiler is standard, it is not decorated with a brake light unlike the spoiler on the sedan.

Sounds like you'd do better with the sedan. The 5-door would look a bit strange w/o a spoiler as there is very little "trunk" length once the windsheild ends.

You can get the holes filled I'm sure. The 5-door is also a tad heavier and less rigid. All depends on what you're looking for.

That's right the 5-door adds around 90-120lbs depending on whether you go with manual, automatic, 4 or 6 cylinder engine. the lightest of the bunch is the 6i sedan with a manual transmission at 3045lbs. vs. 3166lbs for the 6i hatch.

On the flip side the hatch has 22 cubic ft of cargo volume vs. 15.7 on the sedan. With seats folded you get a whopping 58.7 cubic ft. on the hatch!! This can come in very handy, but if you don't need it, then go with the sedan.

I must say though that the sedan w/o a spoiler doesn't look anywhere near as sporty as one with a spoiler

You also get super spiffy rear headrests and a rear wiper. Double bonus;)
I wasn't aware that the hatch had different headrests...what is different about them Necessity?

Also, what's up with that rear wiper motor whine?

My rear wiper is almost silent. If there is a whine there is likely something wrong with it.

By the way is there supposed to be an interval setting on the rear wiper, because mine only works on or off. There is a "knotch" for int setting, but when I put it there nothing happens.

Yes there is an intermittent setting on the rear wiper and that's the one I almost always use as the rear windshield doesn't get nearly as wet as the front. Now while it is intermittent, you cannot adjust the delay as you can with the front wipers. It operates every 5 seconds I think, so maybe you didn't wait long enough for it?

As for the rear wiper being silent, turn ur radio off and while still parked, operate the wiper and tell me what you hear.

Bah, my int setting has never worked. I'll have to b**** at the dealer next oil change.

I just listened to my rear wiper and it sounds slightly different than the front ones but nothing to be concerned about. Not very loud at all.

Yeah unfortunately my wiper is quite loud it's not just barely lounder/different than front ones. It's definitely a loud whine.

I never use my rear windshield wiper, I completely ignore that it's there.

If you are referring to the hatch, that is not true.

EDIT: At least not in the US.
