A question of War

You do not move over 75,000 troops half way around the world for them to do nothing.
You are way off. The number is over 1/4 million now. I meant to say Japan instead of Korea, thanks for correcting that. The WAR will be starting in about 3 weeks. Trust me, I used to be in intelligence. It's all about the weather. It will be getting into the 100+ degree range. The last thing the military needs is people dying of heat stroke while they are in their chemical suits. The war will start by the middle of the thrid week in March. Mark my words.

I love my country, but I HATE my government
Then do something about it. Until then, shut the hell up or move to Canada or Mexico.

i cant believe i just heard i dont want to raise my kids in this country. what the **** is wrong with you you should be kicked out of the army (if you are still in )and shot. get the **** out then go somplace else. go find a better goverment jackass. i really wish that we could shoot people like you. but unfortunality jackasses have rights too and people like me will die to protect your right to say dumbass s*** like this, and protest and burn flags and say how ****** up we are. hell i would even pay for the ticket to get your dumbass out. i even give you a good kick in the ass to get you on your little anti american way.

SpeedFreak, you can change anything that you want to, it is just a matter of getting enough crazies behind you to do it. I'm sorry that you feel this way about our government. I for one think that the United States government has become too large, but I think at heart it is still the best government/constitution to live under. I do agree that the majority of Americans are "stupid." It seems that people care more about their raising cell phones rates then the possiblity of a conflict with Iraq (and the possiblity of having to ration gas and or having to fight in this conflict). Hell, most people don't even know where Iraq is! I would like to know, however, where do you plan on living a better life, with better opertunities for your yet unborn children in this world then the USA?

JMS'MP3and brokemp3: I can agree with your core agruments, but I think that by telling people to "get the hell out" is a poor way of going about it. People in America should be proud of our country. Sure, the United States has played a little dirty in the sandbox before, but it is nothing new (I'm not trying to justify anything here, simply stating that those who live in glass houses should not throw stones). What this girl at the basketball game probably does not realize is that this government that she hates (or does not support) gives her the right to turn her back. It is you JMP'sMP3, brokenmp3 and SpeedFreak that give me, and her the right and the privlage of being American (and thus the power to say "no").

**** them they can all get out. they dont like it then leave not going to hurt my feelings. i wish them luck and a peacefull life but the truth is it is not going to happen. they will stay here and b**** and moan and do nothing to help make a change. they will take for granted the freedoms that we provide but judge us and critisize us for providing those freedoms. so once again i will say **** those people and those like them. disrespecting the people who give all these jackass's their right to piss and moan is a poor way to go about it too. if you dont like my statements dont read them, or b**** and complain some more i dont care

on the subject of oil:

the strike in Venezuela is the reason US oil prices have risen. they produce the same, if not more oil than Iraq. the conflict that is taking place has very little to do with oil.

on weapons:

this is the major premise Bush is using to take action. Iraq's building, use and aiding of weapons and those who use them. what the USA is saying is: "We can have these weapons of mass destruction, but YOU can not."

We feel that the "savage" Arabs can not control their "savagery" and therefore weapons should not be held by these individuals. The "civilized" USA knows what is "right" and should have the power to disarm those whom we feel are not stable.

^^this is a horrible view-point^^

It's time that we focus on boosting the economy and tackling domestic issues instead of fighting others. Bush's great domestic ideas include:
-H-Cars :wtf:, I wish i could kick him for that one.
-Making sure everyone has healthcare, by promoting greater privatization of the existing healthcare policies? The only way to ensure universal healthcare is to socialize it. The Canadians on this board can atest to that.

mx3ownzj00: It is not a question of being a "savage", it is a question of voiding a UN contract that stated Saddam will not build these weapons. Sure, I'm scared that a crazy might get their hands on one of these weapons, but is is much more likley to happen in Iraq then it is in the United States. Unstable countries are very dangerous. The fall of the USSR was alarming becasue for the first time, nuclear technology was out of the hands of the "stable" government (just becasue they were communist does not mean that they were unstable). Hydrogen cars are a great idea! What are you talking about? If you could buy a Hydrogen car that you could fill up using your garden hose, you wouldn't buy it? Why? The theory behind the healthcare system is quite simple; you make healthcare private, thus companies will compete (by lowering prices) for your dollar, what is so bad about that?

yes, hydrogen cars ARE a great idea, but i highly doubt these will ever be mass produced. we're still juut coming out with hybrids.
you can drive prices as low as possible, but ppl still aren't gonna have enough money to buy a plan if they don't have jobs. competition in the market is good, and creates opportunities for many, but a universal need such as healthcare should not be left up the market. i think the government should regulate it. there isn't any way to convince either one of us that one way is better, because we have neither functioning right now.

the UN "agreement" was created because it limits mostly smaller developing countries. we have enough technology and resources to create many planes, for example, that can create the same devestating effects single weapons can. so instead of the USA pushing one button, we push three and get the same job accomplished.

Thats keep this thread going. I think that a few of us need a place to vent about what is going on right now in thw world while at the same time reading about the cool cars that we have. All of these agruments are fantastic! I love this stuff.

The USA has a new bomb, I forget the name right now (somebody please help me). This new bomb has as much "punch" as a small nuke and will most likely be used in Iraq as a way of demoralizing their troops. So it (the conflict with Iraq) might end up being like the conflict with Afghanistan, percise military air strikes. Our troops might not even be needed for battle.

What do you guys think? Should we use this new bomb or should we rely on smaller scale weapons and the troops to do the job?

big_ben: I love that can! Should say "Made in the USA." I think that would get the point across a little better! :)

One more thing: Can we please keep movies out of this. Movies are not reality (in most cases not even based on reality) and they only depict what their directors and producers what them to. They are entertainment, so keep them in that light. Thank you.

You know whats funny all of the circuit boards for all of americas scud missles and most homing missles are made in my city IN CANADA, My mom works for Raytheon which is an american company but she was saying that if america goes to war the security in the building she works for is going to tightin like crazy. Just thought I'd let you know.

well i have read every post on here so far and I love it .. this is a great piece and please lets continue it .. (with out fighting if possible) .. and I want to put in my thing here ..... now on a personal note my aunt was in that Second tower that went crumbling down on that early morning on September 11th and my best friend that is an airplane pilot had just missed that flight that went down in Pa ... so i feel things that I might say in here hold some value i hope .. im not looking for a pitty party but just some background knowlege for you all ..... now first things first .... anyone who believes that it is wrong for Bush to use what happened that day to further bush this issue of Dissarming Saddam and any other foreign Country from obtaining and possibly using chemical and biological weapons/missles is a crule individual. (not pointing fingers at any one here just anyone in general) (also trying to be considerate for any person of Muslum decent or middle eastern decent that may read this. Now i say that previous statement for many reasons as follows ...

1- These twisted sick individuals went as far as sneaking in to our contry and blending in to be our friends, to be our neighbors, to be our co-workers ect (sleepers) and even after all of that were able to still overtake 4 fully loaded passenger planes with 200 or more human beings .... women , men , fathers, mothers, friends and god help us ..innocent little children, and awaited the call from asama Bin Laden to inform them what there mission will be and STILL carried it out resulting in a day/week of horiffic memories that you will carry with you to the day you die. NOW

2- These are the same people that not only kill your friends and family and neighbors or maybe even a person that simply walked by you on the street that said hello. But they kill there own kind in a way that at times is worse! (suicide bombers ect). and now more then ever before they seek this weapons of mass destruction to do what .. I bet you not to jerk off to they have there bearded women for that and saddam!(little humor). SO

3- If these individuals are mentally strong enough to do what they did and still hold there heads up high as if they did a great thing, do you think for one minute they will stop there and also since President Bushes new fire is finding that Saddam may have been supporting the asama terrorists organizations the entire time I even support him even more. but let me finish before you get upset ....

4- OK yeah they created one of the worldd largest tragities know to earths history since the big asteroid, buy using planes that they knew would kill thousands ..now they sunk to a new level and are seeking things that kill HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS....

5- Finnaly i say this .... President Bush personaly knew over 200 people that perished on 9-11-02 and some that have died since then over in Afganistan. now you tell me this .. you personally being the United States of America's top Commander in Chief knowing all of this .. would you not stop at anything to do what ever it took to prevent anything like this from ever happening again !!!!! ... Common now ..we have a man that is willing to end this for good so our kids dont have to live in fear .. i mean look its already happening there is one of our own members here thinking of moving out of OUR OWN COUNTRY to feel safer for his family ...
Also know in reading this .. I DO NOT SUPPORT (WAR) (for lack of better words) but brothers and sisters ..i tell you this one thing ... If you think there is a way that this whole thing can be avoided with out fighting and war in this country or that country then please get on a plane and fly over there and show us how .. ... yes if there is deaths we will suffer from war ..but how is it any different from any and every war faught before ... these people who gave us this great FREE country to live in had to fight and win and die .. and unfortunatly the same thing will have to happen to keep it that way and i personaly do not believe bush wants to send thousand and thousands of our people over seas to just die .. I mean really .... ... and the word WAR means WITHOUT ANY REGRETS .. since the basis of that word was built on it .. if you could bring back any man who died to keep his country, family, friends and neighbors safe from harm or terrorism to ask him ther is now way that that person would have any regrets because look at where we are today as a whole .. we have the biggest and brightes country in the world and always will and we still remain FREE people .. Free

the end

I know you all are sick of me now ..but I as well live in a really bad place now . i live in Knoxville Tn which is 5 mins from Oak Ridge TN which is the place that produces are bombs and this is also the home of the first atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima they used to have gates that closed off the town full of marine gaurds and if you had to pass through the town you were escorted via Bus tha thad all blacked out windos so you could not see anythign around you or where and how you got to the other side ..it was crazy i was told

SpeedFreak, I know exactly what your job is. 31S right. I also know you didn't see s***. All you did was relay satalite uplinks and down links. You follow important people around so they will always have a phone line anywhere in the world. You didn't see anything special. Don't lie to these people.

MP5Raycer: Your post is not invisable, it is just very hard to read. You have so many good ideas but they just do not come out in complete sentences (not trying to be a jerk or start a flame). But I do agree that we have the brightest and most inteligent people living within our boarders. And that we are all FREE.

SpeedFreak: I'm still waiting to read about where you think Nirvana is on this planet without an American flag flying overhead.

Sleeper: Who in here is brainwashed and why?

*taps nmaino on the shoulder* psst, it's lowercase "s" b/c it looks so dorky w/o the uppercase lol

anyhow.. just overall, everyone seems to be missing the point to a degree, IMO.

from what i can tell, bush seems to be misguided in pursuing this war. ie, did anyone watch larry king live with Bill Maher? that's exactly how i see it:
-US can't find and beat up on bin laden
-US is still enraged is out to find another victim of sorts (Iraq, easy target)
-and why is it all of a sudden post 9-11 after they can't find bin laden that they feel that it is URGENTLY necessary for the Iraq to disarm? it's not like Iraq was about to attack the US or anything
-media bombards the viewer into submission with msgs of impending war to almost make people want to say "oh well, i guess we're going to war"

and so on.

is it just me? or are you guys blind to this and discussing reasons for war etc. b/c really there is no ABSOLUTE justification for the us to attack

and no, as someone mentioned, it's not really about oil, although it is to an extent: achieve stability in the middle eastern region to reduce the volatility of oil prices (person mentioned venezuela being primarily responsible for the jump in oil prices, not iraq)

not to mention that the us actions themselves will lead to iraq to lash out, the very action us is trying to prevent? lol (ie. think of accusing someone that they're going to punch you, and you keep saying it saying and saying it despite it not being true, so you turn around and punch the guy until he does punch you back and claim it is true. oh my what a surprise )
-i'm not sure if i read in this forum or another but backing an unpredictable person (dog) into a corner more and more will cause the unpredictable person (dog) to act in an unpredictable way, therefore being predictable to an extent.

anyhow, i'm certain i've missed some points etc, but you get the idea.

brokemp3 - you need to get a grip. You seem to be taking everything so personally. Nobody is disrespecting you, or the military here. Nobody is judging you or criticizing you personally. Some people here just don't think that America is perfect in all ways and can't be improved. Some people don't just blindly follow everything their government tells them.

If people say they don't want a war (or whatever) in Iraq, that's not a personal attack on you or the military. They aren't disrespecting you. They aren't saying they don't appreciate that you have dedicated your life to protecting them. They are just saying that in this particular case, they don't think military action is justified.

If you don't think people should have the right and freedom to speak their mind, then what are you fighting for exactly?
