A question from a newbie

Mazda Protege 5
Hello everyone.
This is my very first post in this forum - so, if I posted in the wrong part of the forum, please don't hit me with a hammer :)

I am currently in the process of installation of a new Pioneer FH-x700BT stereo, on my 2002 Protege5, and I need help with info on how to wire the microphone. It is absolutely not possible to wire it from the front - no one does that, and the stereo has a very snug fit - there is no space for it there. So, I have to wire it from the back...somehow. I have never done it before, so, I'd really appreciate some info on how to do it. I tried searching the forum for this info, but no luck.

Also, how to remove the A-pillar trim - can I just snap it off or is there a trick to it? I don't want to force it off and break something without knowing it.

Thank you very much!

the a pillar trim snaps off easily, i would run the microphone back behind the radio and maybe drill a hole through the bin below the radio (if it is a single din style, or half the hole) and run it through there or you can run it through behind the glovebox and up the a pillar mircophones are kind of a pain in most cars from my experience.

Mine is ran up the pillar all the way to the top. In my opinion its the best placement for it. Just run the wire from the back of the dd through the dash, pop the side dash cover thats accessible once you open the door, through the woods, and up the pillar. Then attach.

Thanks a lot, I'll try to do just that :)
