A/F ratio?!

With my dashhawk I'm showing an A/F of between 11.5 and 13.5 under boost... The car's pulling really hard. but is that too lean?
it's mostly high 12's..

Maybe a vacuum leak? Something between the mass air and turbo. Just a guess. Might explain your boost not going past 15.5.

Boost leaks richen up the mix dont they? I didn't think they leaned it out.

Yep, that would richen it up.

Have you looked at what the DH say the commanded AFR is? Thats weird that its 15.5 at idle. Never seen mine do that. I wonder if the ECU is commanding 15.5 or if it just can get the AFR to 14.7.

Between the mass air and turbo, there is no boost. That would make it lean if there is a leak. Just something easy to check before diagnosing gets more involved.

That air has already been metered so if you lose it, the ECU will still supply the fuel which will be too much. Once its metered at the MAF it doesn't matter if its compressed or not.

Its a vacuum on the intake side. A leak will add unmetered air thus making it lean. It would be the first thing I looked at. Next, I would take the EBC off and see if the condition continues.

I should clarify, it's an SRI not a CAI and it's really short using one of those Spectre(whatever the brand is) tube.

If you have the stock setup from the mass air to the turbo, double check it. The SRI should not make a difference unless the MAF housing is too large or something. I say disconnect the EBC since you said it was relatively easy IIRC ,and take it for a spin.

its the spectra intake. they lean the car out alot and thats why its running so fast. My guess i you are 13.5 in the bottom end and its richens up, up top. In the cold weather those afrs will be ok but in the summer your gonna wanna take off that intake and go with something different. Id actually recommend going back to stock box and drilling a 4inch hole on the driver side of the box. Will make similar power to what you have and richen you up about 1 full point.

Ahhh... you're right, stupid me. Sorry I should think before I post (weakest) ;)

even if it does richen up 1 point 12.5 under boost is still too high. and if its idling that high that hi it should be something messing with the maff sensor being that its not acting right even at idle. (if it were correct idling problem is after boost, if problem begins at idle problem is before boost. sorry for being cpt obvious) so id start with your intake tract. check intake vac line and id even throw the stock box back on to start the elimination process. another explanation could be a malfunctioning wide band or dh but i highly doubt that.

Hey driver did you gain anything switching from your modded air box to your sri. I cut a massive hole out of the driverside of the my air box.
It seems to me that the only power gains I would see from an intake would be due to maf housing size, with the box modded it seems that there is not really any restriction to worry anout. would you agree.

Okay, got it figured out..
I used that Specter(Sp?) housing and it ran really, really lean.. but, I ran the filter right off that housing. I took a coupler and placed a pipe just wide enough to add to the MAF housing and the the filter so there' s a small (two inch) reducer. This completely fixed the problem. My A/F ratios are back in the 10-12 range with no CEL and it's pulling just as hard.

you guys do rock! Thanks for the help.

btw, I got codes!! p 2177 & p2187
