Nice upgrade! in Tucson, they have plenty lined up at the pontiac dealer... at least 10-15 brand new ones. I see more Evo's and STi's around Tucson than I do GTO's. GTO's are awesome. Congrats!

Lucky bastards! Lol. Great car. When I was looking at my wifes SUV I was actually pretty damn close to buying a black GTO like the one pictured....sweet car.

The '06 GTO's have the strut rub problem too + plus the struts are known to fail on the '06's, It's common to hear of people replacing them at 5-6,000 miles and buying the Pedders. Also '04 = LS1/350
'05 = LS2/400
'06 = LS2/400. 05's - '06's are identical in every way except the '06's have faster moving seats, the steering wheel controls light up at night, and the tail lights are black.

The LS2 is a fairly new motor so it will take a little bit for the aftermarket companies to get parts out. The LS1 on the other hand.....WOW parts plentiful for the obvious reasons.

Nice choice on the color combo, pretty rare. I had the Midnight Blue Metallic. They are wonderful cars but, respect the power. One of the shityest things about the car is the rear tires are WAY to narrow, if I were you I would seriously think about putting some wider rubber back there. 245's are to small for a car with 400/tq.

Again, sweet ride. I hope to have another one in a few years. It's the most addicting car that I've ever had the pleasure of driving.

You did get the 6 speed, right?

If you did, get the skip-shift eliminator. It's like $30 and makes the car a lot more enjoyable in city driving.

Nope it's the A4 which shaves .1 or more off the 0-60. The auto shifts so fast you would swear its been in a speed-shop; far quicker than anyone can shift a manual.
 
I could have swore that a salesmen told me the the autos are faster then the manual GTO's...

Nice car, def would have gotten manual though. If u have a Muscle car, espceially one that is suppose to come close to the GTO of old, 6.0 is the way to go.

They are, the Dodge Charger is the same. You lose a couple of horses with the auto, but a human wastes more time and power during the manual shifts I guess. Let me see if I can find the links to back up what I said - wait it's the holden site I think.

Click the link, select GTO from the cars, select Spec's then Performance, make sureyou select Spec;s first because there is another performance listing but that does not show the times.

For those not wanting to go and look here is what it says:

Acceleration 0-100kmh Man / Auto 5.2 sec / 5.1 sec
0-400m Man / Auto 13.5 sec / 13.3 sec

For quater mile runs or from a dead stop yes, A4 would get the jump to 60 but the M6 will walk the A4 from there.

From a roll or highway run M6 will win every time (mod for mod of course)

Also the M6 has taller gearing so, higher top speed.

Not too many places on the Interstate near me that going 180mph is possible, let alone legal...

So top speed is nothing to worry about, as for the 1/4mile we will have to see how she behaves when I get her near a drag line. I dont think the outcome is as obvious as you might think though, normally Auto's as much slower than their manual brethren, but in a 1/4mile the driver of a manual, unless a professional driver will strugle to get his/her shifts down fast enough.

Of course we need to find a stock M6 GTO to find out - either way she is a joy to drive even if it's missing a peddle. Just free's my left foot up to tap to the rythm of the drive shaft spinning below me.
