I have an 03 Protege with the 2.0L. It has new belts. I have applied belt dressing and I have tightened the belt to the point of snapping and ran it loose as hell. It always squeals when I start the car no matter how tight. After a few minutes it goes away but in the meantime it squeals really loud. What could this be? I just spent 5 grand on this car and really don't want to buy a compressor on a whim or hunch. Is there anything else I can try that would narrow it down?
