guys. its getin out down here in richmond and my ac doesnt work wtf..... first time this year i try to use it and it doesnt work. i tried putting in more freon, but it doesnt work..... i check ti agian next day and its gone. so theres a leak. i tired goin up to walmart and buying the sealer for it and it still doesnt work. does anyone else know wat to do? at walmart they have a super sealer, at least thats wat it says on the box. i saw a picture and it can seal holes upt o 1inch, but its 20 dallors. you guys think its worth a try? or take it into mazda that i have a 30 dallor coupon just to check for leaks and clean the condensor. anythoughts or comments?

There is a product you can buy that attaches to the recharge valve (same valve you would use as if you are going to refill your freon) that pumps a light film of smoke through the a/c lines. Just trace the lines with your eyes to see where the leak is coming from, as you will see the smoke leaking out.
I don't think you can get it at Walmart, but an auto parts store should have it. I have seen it at Pep Boys, so I'm sure others should have it too.

I didn't think our A/C used freon, doesn't it use something else now? All I know is that my A/C doesn't work on my new car at the moment and I haven't even bothered to figure out why. So many other things going on at the moment. And my last car had the problem that in positions other then "1", the A/C would click off and on, but my new MP3 doesn't have that problem, it just doesn't work at all.
I figured that since my car is stock at the moment, I would have the dealership maybe look at it tomorrow when they fix my cat (which is still under warranty). Don't worry, my car won't be stock for long, I just need to pass inspection before I start playing...

umm idk if mines doin that.... i havnt used ac on that thing for like 2 yrs now lol. if it does ill freakin die. roni i need another part.... hehe i took my car in to pepboys they said the hose that goes from condenser to the compressor is leaking. u think urs is still ok?

the location for the insert is running along the left side of the car. it has 2 metal pipes, and one has a cap with the letter L NOT THE LETTER H high stands for high pressure and l is the low one. it will circulate into the high sooner or later, but u have to instert the freon in the low. you can get the gauge and everything you need at walmart, but prices now and days went out.... idk why. last year i remember buying like 10 cans of freon and it was like 5 bucks a piece.... now its like 10 wtf, gay. but i would buy the gauge (cheap one) or get a package that you can reuse the gauge again.
roni: our cars run freon, but they call it r134a or something like that. you cant get r13 or something like that now and days, its considered illegal here in va if you have it without license...... wtf lol some kids found new ways to get high haha jk.

Mine hasnt worked for teh last year or so........
I had no A/C this spring and after checking that I had ZERO freon! That usually means a bad leak. My leak was the hose running on the passenger side of the engine compartment (left side as you peer in from the front).
You can't see a freon link (it's a gas) but you could refill the system with freon and a dye and look for leaks. However, first, check the hose for oil. My hose actually had a thick coating of oil on it.
I screwed up because I was in a hurry and had the shop refill the system ($250) only to lose it a day later. Check the hoses.

Good call. I just had mine fixed under warranty.
Without the warranty, it would have cost $197 for the part and labor.
Most over the counter A/C repair stuff is a bandaid, at best. I see it like the fix-a-flat tire stuff. Good enough to keep you going, but you should fix the problem as soon as possible.
ya thanks guys, i tired alot of repair kits non of them worked. blew about almost 100 on freon stuff this year. (repair kits, freon *prices went up to like 8 dallors a can... wow) but on the good side i found my leak, lol noticed alot of oil coming out of the high hose. just have to get a new hose now.
